Program Details

In exchange for free food and lodging we require assistance with care for the dogs. You will learn how to read dog body language, how to train dogs effectively for long term results ensuring you end up with a well mannered and stable dog.

You will start your stay by learning safety precautions and basic handling, we do not take dangerous dogs in however we want to give you the tools you need to handle any situation you may find yourself in.

While here you passively learn more about their behaviour and body language, dogs are very expressive but humans don't naturally pick up on a lot of their cues. While here you will be exposed to a large variety of dogs and learn to better understand them.

Our sole expectation of you is that you spend time with them and treat them with kindness, dogs are very loving and will often seek out your attention and company.

Activities & Shift

Our daily activities range from playing with the dogs to taking them on walks and training dogs. Shifts range from day to day depending on how many dogs we have at the school. As we are a dog school working with dogs we are very flexible and have no set in stone schedule, we often work around the dogs and are able to move things around to suit your personal needs and schedule.

Rules

You will be expected to clean after yourselves, this includes keeping shared spaces like the kitchen and bathroom clean. This means vacuuming, wiping off sinks and tables, cleaning up after yourself in general.

We do not allow punishments on dogs, this includes pinching, biting, kicking, slapping or any kind of infliction of pain or discomfort. We will teach you how to handle dogs safely and with care without causing discomfort to our furry guests.
