What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.


What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Program Details

If you love photography, videography, and social media, this is a great opportunity to build your portfolio while working in a dynamic outdoor kitchen setting.

What You’ll Do:
-Capture high-quality photos and videos of food, grilling, and the Smokehouse experience.
-Create engaging social media content (Reels, Stories, and Posts) for Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms.
-Assist in editing and curating content for marketing campaigns.
-Share Smokehouse's atmosphere, flavours, and experience through creative storytelling.
-Collaborate on new content ideas to engage food lovers and travellers.

What We’re Looking For:
-A passion for photography, videography, and storytelling.
-Experience with editing tools (Canva, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, CapCut, etc.) is a plus.
-Understanding of social media trends and how to create engaging content.
-Someone who enjoys BBQ, outdoor cooking, and food culture.
-A proactive and creative mindset.

Activities & Shift

Daily Activities Checklist:
-Capture high-quality photos and videos of food, cooking, and the Smokehouse experience.
-Plan and create engaging social media content (Reels, Stories, and Posts).
-Edit and curate content for Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms.
-Develop creative ideas to showcase BBQ, outdoor cooking, and guest experiences.
-Shoot and document the smoking, grilling, and plating processes.
-Engage with guests (if comfortable) to capture testimonials and candid moments.
-Organize and store photo and video content for future use.
-Collaborate with the team on content strategy and storytelling.


Rules

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, please follow these guidelines:

Professionalism & Commitment
-Respect your 20-hour weekly schedule and complete assigned tasks responsibly.
-Communicate in advance if you need time off outside the designated 3 days off per week.

Content Ownership & Usage
-All content created for Smokehouse by BraaiCraft belongs to the brand and may be used for marketing purposes.
-You may share your work on your portfolio, but tagging Smokehouse by BraaiCraft is required when posting online.

Accommodation & Meals
-Accommodation is provided only for the duration of your volunteer period.
-Meals will be provided during work hours—outside of this, additional meals are at your own expense.
-Keep the accommodation clean and respect shared spaces.

Work Ethic & Attitude
-Be proactive, creative, and willing to experiment with new content ideas.
-Respect all staff, guests, and fellow volunteers.

No Smoking, Alcohol, or Inappropriate Behavior
-Smoking, alcohol, or any form of inebriation is strictly prohibited during your stay, both on and off duty.
-Any violation of this rule will result in immediate termination of the volunteer position.

Social Media & Brand Representation
-Maintain a professional and positive image when representing Smokehouse by BraaiCraft.
-Avoid sharing negative or inappropriate content related to the brand, guests, or operations.

Failure to follow these rules may result in early termination of the volunteer position.
