Join Us and help with Gardening, Building & Outdoor Projects


The experience

Daily tasks include watering the garden (about 1 hour in the morning and afternoon during warmer months), assisting with building projects such as lifting, painting, cleaning the work area, and more. You'll also help with tree planting, landscaping, and daily household chores. Looking for motivated volunteers with a willingness to work outdoors and assist in various areas of the project.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 20 and 50 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Ideally looking for a couple with their own transport as public transport isn't available.
Accomodation provide in a two story 4 bedroom shared kitchen bathroom shed house.
Property located on the south west end of Kangaroo Island south Australia.
Right next door to Flinders Chase national Park and Hanson Bay wildlife sanctuary.
Farm has sheep on the 110 acres and wildlife on the 300 arces of native vegetation.
large Vegetable garden growing organic produce for own use and sale of excess produce.


Activities & Shift

Watering the garden early morning and late afternoon. This will soon be set up on irrigation timers.
Help with build projects that will be tasked daily.


Rules

No smoking inside accomodation areas.
No Drug on site. A few alcoholic drinks are ok
No open fires in Fire Ban season
Water and power restrictions apply as on tank rain water and Off Grid Solar Power.
limited mobile phone coverage, telstra only on farm, WIFI to be connected soon.
Approval for volunteers to have guest on the property prior to entry.
Quiet location, no loud parties as dirrectly opposite the wildlife sancuary tours.
