The hostel was my first volunteering position in Japan, and I love it, the team welcome me very well and I had a cosy home for more than a month. The hostel is very well located so you can discover a lot during your free time !

I had a nice time volunteering at the hostel. Depending on the number of volunteers present, the working hours are few and the work is manageable. However, the hostel did not strike me as particularly social (perhaps due to the time of year). However, if you enjoy your own company and exploring cities on your own terms by yourself, or if you are travelling with friends, that won't be an issue. The location could simply not be better. It is in the center of center of the city - surrounded by great cafés, bars, shops etc. A coffee or a snack is never more than an arms length away - even at 4am :)
