I stayed for a month in the Sae Lao project. My experience as a volunteer was nothing short of amazing. Peter (the host) is a very compassionate and inclusive leader that always ensures all volunteers feel welcome and part of the team. I was the educational coordinator for 3 out of 4 weeks which meant I was in charge of assigning both the different classes the volunteers teach in as well as allocating daily activities/task i.e. gardening, cooking dinner, renovating, lesson planning etc. The operation runs smoothy thanks to driven and motivated volunteers. All in all, an incredible experience.

During the 2 weeks i spent here it was amazing to meet everyone from the project and Volunteers there and have the opportunity to help to teach Tui and the kids! I would definitely recommend this to other people although keep an open mind and do not expect the cleanest living conditions since the dorms are open and toilets are squat ones but it is only a minor down side in relation to all that is good in this project! I hope to come back in the future and Thank you so much Peter, Tui, Chang lee and everyone else for making me feel so welcome!

Volunteering at Saelao was amazing! The team truly cares for each of their volunteers. We're able to choose our daily & weekly morning tasks: I chose social media & I had the freedom to create content with my own style.The work is fun & it feels so good to give back to the community. I absolutely loved teaching my students & I will forever remember their sweet smiles and faces. They have such a wonderful thirst for knowledge & are eager to learn :) The impact they left on me is so big & I will miss them so much. I'm so grateful for my time at SaeLao & I definitely recommend this experience✨🥰

Had an amazing experience being part of this lovely community. The surroundings are beautiful, and the teaching was so much fun. Food was great! Would have stayed longer if I could!

It's a truly amazing way of experiencing a different culture and traveling. Interacting with the kids and the locals that work on the project has been a truly amazing experience. The dorms and the full engagement in daily tasks and maintenance of the project facilities has brought the team of volunteers super close together amongst each other as well as with the Lao team. I can confidently recommend this project to anyone who is looking to create an impact in the community and ready to help and develop this amazing project!

Volunteering at SAE LAO was amazing! You get to choose your morning work, have free time in a beutiful place and get to teach children in the evening. They are very keen to learn and you get lots of hugs once the lesson is over. You do all your tasks with the people from your group, so you connect with your fellow volunteers as well. The Lao Team is made of the nicest people too, they cook for you once a day and are always fun to be around. I'm so grateful for this experience and wish I would have had the time to extend!!<3

I can come from the Saelao experience saying it was some of the best weeks of my life. This is as a result of the kids & the volunteers. I've met friends for life here as everyone has big hearts and are likeminded. Exploring Vang Vieng on our free days was incredible. Teaching the children has been so rewarding. If I had to say, I wish we could see where our money goes & wish there was a stronger connection with management. Other than that, I'll be dreaming of this experience for a long time 🫶🏼
