The experience

Join us in turning the timeless art of Winongo hand-drawn batik into modern, internationally loved fashion. As a volunteer, you’ll help preserve Indonesian culture while creating stunning designs that blend tradition with innovation. Be part of a movement that celebrates artistry, sustainability, and global impact.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 5 Per day

Fee pays for: Materials for volunteer activities

Description: To purchase materials for volunteer activities; fabric, wax, colors and for the development of Kawista Winongo


What you get

1 day off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Intermediate English or Beginner Indonesian

Between 20 and 40 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

Helping to design various fashion models using batik tulis as the basic material, combined with other textiles that can become a high-quality fashion trend that is worthy of export.


Activities & Shift

1. creating batik motifs that are in accordance with local potential,
2. creating hand-drawn batik,
3. designing clothing/fashion,
4. publishing photos and videos on social media,
5. learning traditional community activities.

1. dress politely and appropriately.
2. no drugs and alcohol.
3. Swearing is prohibited.
