The experience

A Top Rated certified organic Agriturismo located in Caprese Michelangelo is looking for SKILLED and EXPERIENCED organic and, preferably, regenerative vegetable farmers and lovers of agriculture, to help us establish our gardens for our 2025 Season. We prefer to work with individuals or couples (of all types, including friends, siblings, etc) who will be able to start in early March at the latest, and stay for the entire season (late October)

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fluent English or Intermediate Italian

Program Details

In addition to full board accommodation (with 3 meals/day), we would be happy to offer a monthly stipend (to be mutually agreed) to individuals with the passion, skills and experience that we need. Full time work (40 hours/week) would be required for the stipend.

The "Job" is to work with owners on establishing the veggie garden to supply the kitchen and all meals, as well as to sell to the public. We are looking for someone who is highly knowledgable and able to work on their own without supervision. In additional to the organic veggie gardens we also have started planting Micro-greens and will continue to cultivate them this year. We also have hundreds of Olive and fruit trees, and are planning on planting more of both, including berries.

This position is ideal for those individuals who have always wanted to start their own farm and have creative but practical ideas on how to farm organically and regeneratively, without compromising quality and production quantity.

We are also very interested in fermentations as well as freeze drying. So skills and/or experience in any of the mentioned activities above would be a big plus!

Activities & Shift

We normally start the day between 730 and 830 depending on season, and we expect 5 hours of work from volunteers or until lunch break. But overall schedule is flexible depending on what needs to be done, weather, and other circumstances.

Rules

We are looking for volunteers with POSITIVE and CAN-DO attitude, as well as flexibility, curiosity and the willingness to get down and dirty. Please remember that IL VIGNO is a working farm and B&B, so there are standards, deadlines, and schedules to be kept.

No Smoking indoors, and guests facilities are off limits during the season. But volunteers will have access to miles and miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, natural swimming pools, and much more. Volunteers will stay in their own 3 bedroom apartment with own kitchen and living room.
