The experience

Hello everyone! 😊 My name is Gokhan — you can call me Gogo! I’m originally from Turkey and have been living in France for over 12 years. After many years in the corporate world, as ex-banker, I decided to change paths in 2022 to follow a true passion: winemaking. If you wanna take part in an adventure in the vineyard , with a cozy accommodation, shared meal in a peaceful environment, I’d be happy to welcome you to Château Lacarel!

Program Details

Today, I manage a small 4-hectare vineyard near the beautiful Saint-Émilion region in southwest France. It’s called Château Lacarel – Vignobles Selici et Toker, a family-led project built on authenticity, care, and connection to the land.
I live at the château with my two animal companions: Ouzo, a joyful Golden Retriever, and Sacha, a curious Maine Coon cat. During the week, I live here alone. My wife joins me on weekends, and my daughter and son visit regularly.

Activities & Shift

I’m looking for kind and motivated volunteers who are excited to work and curious to discover the real life of a vineyard — both outdoors in the vines and inside the wine cellar. No experience is needed, just a good spirit and a willingness to learn.
In return, I offer cozy accommodation in the château, shared meals, a peaceful environment, and a unique opportunity to take part in the winemaking process from the inside.
