The experience

The Association in Uganda seeks passionate, dedicated, and compassionate individuals as international volunteers to support its mission of empowering refugee women and girls. We welcome volunteers from diverse backgrounds who share a commitment to gender equality, social justice, and community development.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English or Fluent French

Between 18 and 60 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

Ideal volunteers are proactive, adaptable, and culturally sensitive, with a strong ability to engage respectfully with people from different cultures and experiences. Skills and expertise in areas such as education, health, livelihood development, project management, counseling, language training, and advocacy are highly valued.


Activities & Shift

We particularly appreciate individuals with a willingness to listen, learn, and collaborate with refugee communities, helping to co-create sustainable solutions. Volunteers who are creative problem-solvers, effective communicators, and team players will find meaningful opportunities to contribute.
