Program Details
We welcome people who are happy to pitch in and do a variety of tasks, mainly outdoors. There are also more advanced projects available to those who have relevant experience. Sometimes you will be working with others (and/or with us) and sometimes on your own with guidance. We also welcome creative ideas and input. Note, most of the work is physical, but not super-strenuous.
There are plenty of outdoor activities within walking distance for free time - including a swimming lake and beach, hiking trails, a Cathar castle, cafés and a bar with weekly live music. No big shops or nightlife though! We are happy to arrange lifts to the nearest town for transport with prior arrangement, and also to markets/local sites if we are free.
Activities & Shift
After a help-yourself breakfast, we work for 4 hours in the morning, then lunch is provided. Afternoons are free, and then we take turns to cook and clean up dinner - or you can cook for yourself with food provided. Two days a week are free.
Rules
We're sorry that for practical reasons we cannot accept volunteers with young children or pets. Please behaving respectfully to our other volunteers, and to our paying guests in season. No illegal drugs on the property please, but if you want to drink alcohol that's fine as long as you can still work the next morning! We have some charming cats, so it is not a suitable place for people with cat allergies.
