Sustainable Agriculture & Cultural Immersion in Uganda

I spent 3 very enjoyable weeks at the community run by Martha who is a wonderful person. Her project is in very rural, poor Uganda with a 3 hour drive from the airport and the last couple of kilometers on dirt road. She has solar panels supplying electricity for lights, running water, and refrigerator/freezer. I worked 2 hours daily of physical work which was plenty for this 68 year old body. She was always very concerned for my comfort and well being, and is a good cook. I can't think of a better way to experience rural Uganda. It's 30 km from Jinja (tourist capital), I'll go next time!
