What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.


What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Program Description: Machine Operator Position

We’re seeking an experienced heavy machinery operator to help us create and maintain forest roads, opening access to stunning, untouched locations. You’ll work with well-maintained equipment, including excavators, tractors, and forest trailers for tasks like developing trails, transporting materials, and moving logs in the spring.

Our commitment to nature is at the heart of everything we do. We prioritize minimizing our ecological footprint, so extra care is taken to operate sustainably and safely. This position requires prior experience with heavy equipment and respect for environmental stewardship.

Activities & Shift

Activities & Shift: Machine Operator Position

Daily Activities Checklist:
Operate excavators to build and maintain forest roads and trails.
Use tractors to transport materials or equipment as needed.
Tow forest trailers to move logs, especially during the spring.
Perform routine maintenance checks on machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Collaborate with the team to plan and prioritize tasks.
Work carefully to minimize environmental impact and follow safety protocols.

Shifts:
This position requires flexible hours based on weather and project needs. On favorable days, shifts may be longer to maximize progress.
During periods of heavier workdays, extra time off will be provided to balance your schedule. We value adaptability, attention to detail, and teamwork to ensure the job is done efficiently and sustainably. Your efforts will directly contribute to creating safe, beautiful access to our sanctuary’s most magical places.
