The experience

Come help us at one of the most social hostels in Sri Lanka!

Looking for upbeat, hands-on volunteers to keep the Chilli Croc experience lively! You’ll help with a variety of tasks from housekeeping, special projects (like painting a new blackboard wall), keeping our guests entertained and keeping our dogs happy and healthy. If you’re ready to bring the vibes, lend a hand, and do things the Sri Lankan way, we’d love to have you on board!

What you offer

28 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

What you get

1 day off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

We’ll guide you through all the daily tasks—it’s easygoing, laid-back, and won’t wear you out! Once your shift wraps up, you’re free to dive into exploring Hiriketiya and all its beautiful spots. We're looking for people who are easy-going and don't mind getting their hands a little dirty.

Activities & Shift

This could be a little bit of everything - from helping our amazing chef cook family dinner, to repainting the giant octopus in one of our dorms. As our high season turns into low, we'll be undertaking a variety of special projects that we would love your help with!
