I had an amazing time volunteering at dos palmas, Nico was an awesome host and made me feel like family from the start, as a volunteer I was able to get free surf board rentals and discounted surf lessons which I used a lot and enjoyed heaps! The reception works hours were super flexible so you were able to plan your week out with travel plans and mostly surfing! Altogether dos palmas offers a social fun atmosphere where you will meet people that will become life long friends. Thankyou Nico for being so kind and the opportunity again, I loved it! :) Hannah

Absolutely loved our time in Dos Palmas! The volunteering is now for a reception position as the hostel is renovated and up and running. It's truly impressive how many great people and vibes pass through the spot. The amenities were super comfortable and the work is so relaxed, often spending my free time hanging out with whoever is on shift anyways. Niko is a great host and a great guy who went above and beyond to consider our preferences and ensure we were comfortable. Still sad to have left dos Palmas and miss Nico, the cats, the volunteers and the guests dearly :(

My volunteering experience at Dos Palmas was exceptional. Nico is a great host, very welcoming and contributes heavily to bringing the social and loving vibe the hostel has to offer. In my time at Dos Palmas I met so many new friends from all over the world and can't wait to see them again. I'm more than grateful for the experience to learn the work here and to meet so many amazing individuals. Would highly recommend volunteering at Dos Palmas!

My three weeks at Dos Palmas were great. There were nice projects to build and the supplied tools are good. Nico is a very easy going guy and made sure that everyone is doing well. This place is going to be even better in future if all plans are realized. Already now it's a great environment to stay and perfect to connect to international travelers. Thanks for everything 🖖

Great volunteering experience! Very nice hostel, with pool and close to the beach. The owner is friendly and makes sure that everyone is having a good time. Pretty cool to say that I helped to build this place. It is only going to get better and better. I will definitely be back in the future.

I had an amazing two months renovating Nico's hostel in El Tunco. My duties consisted of building 10 pod style bunks, a small deck, tool storage shelves, and various small mantainence/repair jobs. Hours were very flexible as long as we put in work--it wasn't an issue to skip work on a Monday so we could take a little trip away from El Tunco and work a little extra when we came back. In the beginning it was a little hectic with a few things taking slightly longer than planned but honestly I quite enjoyed being part of the process. I don't know when, but I would like to come back one day.

We got the privilege of volunteering from the very first day it was purchased right up until it opened and we had guests! It was such an amazing experience! We learnt so much about renovation and construction, and Nico always maintained a friendly and sociable atmosphere for volunteers. We worked hard - 5 hours a day - and it was so rewarding. El Tunco is a great place and I would come back and work for Nico in the future for sure. Thanks for a great 2 months!

Had a great time. Spent so many nights together as a group. Nico also joined us for many nights, he's fun to be around. When I was there we renovated the place, I'm sure it's gonna turn out beautifully and will be the hostel in el tunco!

Nico was a fantastic host. We had a team meeting every day, discussed the most important things, and he always tried to make everyone feel comfortable. It's a big project, and I think everyone is treated well here. I had a great time and am grateful to have been part of the project. The working hours were flexible, as long as the work was done, you could organize your free time well.

This is a great place to meet travelers alike and chill. I met some awesome people that I know will be in my life in the future. Unfortunately the host did leave on vacation and since it is a new hostel things needed to be figured out. I believe reception work could improve for a more organized format in checking people in and out and cash handling. But otherwise this hostel is great to chill by the beach, surf. And meet people
