Program Details
I'm 28 years old, and I live in a beautiful, peaceful village called Tagounit, located in the heart of Morocco. I’m passionate about helping the local community, especially children, and I would love to welcome volunteers who share this interest.
In our small village, life is simple and close to nature. My main goal is to provide support for local children, particularly in learning new languages like English and French. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work closely with the kids, either in informal classes or through fun activities that encourage learning.
I'm looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic, patient, and passionate about teaching. If you have experience in teaching languages or working with children, that would be a bonus, but it’s not necessary. What’s most important is a kind heart and a willingness to engage with the kids.
You’ll stay in my home, where I offer comfortable accommodations, including meals. During your stay, you’ll experience Moroccan culture firsthand and get to know the village and its people. It’s a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in local life while making a meaningful impact.
If you want to be part of a special community and help the next generation of kids in a remote village, I’d love to hear from you.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers in Tagounit will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through a mix of language teaching and cultural exchange. They will assist children with learning English and French through engaging activities like vocabulary games, storytelling, and simple conversation practice. Volunteers can also organize outdoor play, nature walks, and arts and crafts, providing a fun way for the children to learn while exploring their surroundings. Additionally, volunteers may help with community events, environmental education projects, or support local schools, all while immersing themselves in the rich culture of Morocco.
Volunteers will follow a flexible schedule, typically with morning shifts dedicated to structured language lessons (9:00 AM - 12:30 PM) and afternoon shifts focused on more relaxed, creative, and outdoor activities (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM). One or two days off a week will allow volunteers time to rest or explore the village and surrounding areas. With comfortable accommodations and meals provided, volunteers can enjoy a unique cultural experience while playing a vital role in supporting the educational development of the local children.
Rules
Volunteers in Tagounit are expected to be respectful, patient, and committed to the community and children they are working with. It’s important to maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate kindness, and create a safe, supportive environment for the kids. Volunteers should be punctual, reliable, and flexible with their schedules, as activities may shift based on the needs of the children or community. While prior teaching experience is not required, a genuine passion for helping and a willingness to engage in educational and cultural activities are essential. Volunteers are expected to follow the village’s local customs and traditions, respect the local way of life, and work collaboratively with the host family and community members to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
