The project was my first experience in Africa, and I'm so glad that it made such a great first impression! Joshua was a very communicative and kind host, the accommodation and food was amazing, and I learned so much about life in the slum and how a little money, time, and love really can go a long way for a lot of these people. I got to help out in the local public and private schools, the medical centre where I helped perform checkups on babies, and the slum where I got to play with the kids and even lead a mental health talk! A lot of stuff to do, so a great experience for anyone!

My time at SYI was really great! Their commitment to provide a better life for the kids and the people in the slum is deeply significant. 👏🏼🙌🏼 My day schedule was very ballanced, you have a good time focused on the project, as well as you have enough free time to relax, explore or do things on your own. I am especially amazed by the local staff who contribute with all their passions and gifts, to keep this place running.. The boys there (Toni, Sanches, John, Sam) are truly a vibe ♥️😀 and I will miss them. Hope to be back here !!

The time I spent at SYI was truly amazing! This organization is everything they are portraying and more. The leadership is doing everything they can to make the project as helpful to the community as possible, and the local volunteers were so helpful and welcoming that I couldn't help but feel at home. The kids you get to interact with on a daily basis at this place are some of the most wonderful, sweet, and open kids I have ever met, and they all have a special place in my heart. Thank you to everyone here who made my time there so special, I'm going to miss you all <3

Mu two weeks at Soveto the project were unforgettable. I joined them to shoot a documentary, and from day one, I was welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm. The team's dedication to empowering their community is truly inspiring and it was an honour to capture their stories and impact. Beyond the project what stood out was the kindness of everyone involved. I made genuine some connections. If you're looking for a meaningful collaboration or a chance to witness community driven change, Soveto the project is the place to. Highly recommended!

An absolutely incredible volunteering experience. It was an honour to be able to witness just a part of the incredible work at the project. The team at this project are passionate people who truly care for the livelihood of the children who live in the slums. Joshua and the staff are incredibly thoughtful and hardworking , it was amazing to watch the team work with the children. The children are amazing and lively! I helped set up activities and games for them daily and it was very fun. The accommodation was great and very comfortable. This project is so important and I'm grateful

Volunteering at the project was an incredible experience. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a caring and passionate community. Everyone involved is deeply committed to supporting the project, and the children are absolutely amazing- full of energy, kindness and hope. I learned so much during my time there, not only about the local culture but also about the strength of community and the importance of giving back. It was very meaningful experience and I recommend it to anyone looking to make a real difference.

My time at the project has been an incredible experience. The team is doing an amazing job at creating a safe space for the children in the slum to learn, play and eat nutritious meals. Joshua has been an amazing host, welcoming me and always checking in. I was also fortunate enough to stay with my host mum Ruth who cooked us delicious dinners and introduced us to the local community. This experience has truly been super rewarding and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to step out of their comfort zone and make a real impact on a local community!

Had one of the best times of my live in the project.. The Organisation is helping the community so much. With food, education or just games and giving kids safe a place to play. SYI is really supporting the community and helping the kids to have better chances in the future. All their stuff members from Joshua, Rio, Bonface, Agnes, the cooking team and all the others are very welcoming and kind hearted. Also my guest Family Laureen & Lawrence + Levan were the best hosts ever. The showed me some spots around and answered whatever questions i had. Not to forget the amazing food. Asante Sana!

My time at the project was very positive. I learnt a lot about what the organisation does to help the community, from children to teenagers, and making sure they stay safe and have a place to call home. The team, and the locals I met were the friendliest and liveliest people with so much care and love for one another. I had an amazing experience.

I stayed 2 weeks only, even if I planned to stay 1 month but this time was great. I wish I had enjoyed the place for longer time cause people are really welcoming and I met a lot of nice people from the locals to the volunteers. Hope to go back soon! Ruth was amazing taking care of our meals and accomodation, but all the staff contributed to make you feel part of them. I think I received more than what I gave.
