Program Details

We usually have one or two volunteers here at the same time and my husband and I are also here. We enjoy showing volunteers around the area and introducing them to our friends. It’s a friendly and busy household but volunteers have plenty of time to themselves. We welcome volunteers into our family and do our very best to make them feel at home and valued.

Activities & Shift

The dogs need feeding twice a day and to be taken for two short walks per day. The cat is a stable cat and needs feeding morning and evening. The hens are let out in the morning, cleaned out and fed and shut away again in the late afternoon.

Rules

Volunteers are expected to keep their rooms including bathrooms clean and tidy and clean them at the end of their stay.
We would ask volunteers to help us with general housekeeping in communal areas e.g. vacuuming, washing up after meals.
We provide suitable food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast and lunch are self service but we all eat dinner together.
If volunteers require any speciality foods to meet their dietary requirements and it’s not something we normally buy they will need to buy them.
We do not provide alcohol for volunteers consumption but are happy for you to drink alcohol you have purchased
We are a non-smoking household and do not allow smoking in the house or stables.
