My time at BronxFamilia was an incredibly amazing experience. It was a very interesting experience from which I learned a lot. Nikos and Caro are two unbelievably kind people, and you can really feel how much they care about the dogs! However, one must be aware that the living conditions are different from what one might be used to at home. But if you embrace it and adapt to the new circumstances, it is a wonderful place! I had such a great time—thank you so much, Nikos and Caro!

This was my first volunteer experience with worldpackers. I absolutely loved the time here!! Nikos and Caro are one of the nicest people I've ever meet ! They take so much care of us volunteers and always listen to us! You can always talk to them if you have any kind of problems and they take care. The accommodation is nice ! But you have to be aware of it that it's built very simple and some dogs live with you in the accommodation, maybe that's not for everyone. But I personally loved it! I definitely want to come again 🥰❤️ The work was amazing, the dogs give you lots of love

Great experience! For my first trip (with Worldpackers), I loved it so much. I recommend to everyone, this will teach you a lot about yourself and if you love animals, go for it ! I'm thinking of coming back for a few weeks, if I can! Thank you so much for all to Nicos and Caro 🤙🏼

My time at the the shelter dog the shelter was a mix of feelings. On one hand I had a really good time with the dogs and I felt all the love that Nikos puts on the the shelter. He's really nice and caring. On the other hand the hours that I was volunteering weren't being respected at all and there's no Wi-Fi. Which are both okay if the person responsible for the social media didn't put on the worldpackers app that we only work for about 4 hours a day and that we have Wi-Fi. I'm not blaming Nikos, I just want to make everyone aware of what they are applying for. Thank you for everything Nikos!

I had a great time at the the shelter, the dogs (and other animals) make the experience so worth while and special. The living conditions challenging, prepare to be living basically off grid and simple (no fridge, not all houses have toilet or shower etc). It is very clear that Nikos and the team are passionate about their animals and they put everything they can into looking after them. If you love dogs and want a meaningful volunteer experience I would recommend.

It was a true adventure that I will never forget! The whole experience taught me a lot and yes, it wasn't easy but really unforgettable! Time with dogs was so precious and I fell in love with all of them. Niko and Caro are amazing people and I admire their strength and love to animals😍 If you love animals and want to really help them go for it but remember it is not comfortable accommodation and the food because of the lack of fridge is limited. Overall, I recommend! And I wish to come back🩷

We volunteered at the shelter for two weeks but left early due to poor conditions. The freshly build “house“ turned out to be a container which lacked basic facilities like running water, a lockable door, and a kitchen. Meals were irregular and often insufficient, with spoiled food and no fridge. The routine was unstructured, and communication poor. Although we enjoyed working with the animals, €800 was not justified. We did not feel valued. Unfortunately, we can't explain everything here due to the review's character limit.

These volunteers planned to leave early to explore Crete. After learning refunds aren’t guaranteed, they raised more concerns. For clarity: they chose our €200/week no-minimum-stay option, explained upfront. The kitchen is usable, water was fixed next day, doors lock, and groceries are provided for self-cooking. We don’t serve meals. With 300+ rescue dogs, our routine may shift due to emergencies. We’re happy to answer questions and share videos before you arrive.💗

It was my first volunteer experience with worldpackers and I really liked the work. I met some really amazing people and the dogs are all so lovely☺️. The accommodations are really simple and it took me some time to get used to it. And although Caro and Nikos are really nice people their time management sometimes costed me all my patience and nerves.

This was my first time volunteering at a dog the shelter and I absolutely loved the work and spending time with all the cute dogs!! 🥰 Nikos and Caro are such incredible people that care for the animals with all their heart. Whenever you need anything you can always talk to them and they'll try to help as good as they can! I also got along very well with the other volunteers and recommend this experience for meeting amazing& like minded people :)) However the accommodation is very simple, which took me a few days to get used to and might not be for everyone.

I enjoyed my time at this experience because being able to take care of the animals in a better way is what I want to be able to do. This is a very volunteer led experience I feel like— with basic instruction at the beginning. It is a non profit the shelter so there are not a huge amount of donations coming in so the accommodations have everything needed like hot water, food heating— but keep in mind it's not a 5 star hotel. It is a very simple job so there is a lot of time to be able to spend with the animals and take extra care of them. I would come back and help whenever I can.
