The Center has been such an amazing experience. Stjärnsund is such a peaceful little village and the community is so welcoming and kind. It has been great getting to know the locals and other volunteers. There is lots of flexibility with the work and you can do what inspires you most + learn a lot, there is always something new to do. Kelsey has been an amazing host with great communication & is always there to listen or help with anything. 💗 The nature and landscapes around the Center are also breathtaking, both in the warmer and colder months. I would recommend this stay to everyone!

Isabel and Sheridan landed into the volunteer house with so much ease, always friendly and happy to help out with all the tasks. They took great care of the garden, easy to talk to. Isabel has some extra skills with technology as well which has been great! They are both just really sweet to have around. Wish them well on their next adventures.

I had such a lovely time at the Center! The surrounding area is gorgeous, incredible walks around the village. I also loved meeting all the local living there, as well as all the other volunteers and travelers. Such a great community! I worked remotely while staying there (good wifi, no problems) and the volunteer hours were as expected (they were super flexible). I'll definitely be coming back at some point and highly recommend this experience!

Nicole managed to balance her work online and connecting with her environment, the other volunteers and finding the time to paint and help out however she could. Nicole is an excellent communicator and it was a pleasure to share watching the northern lights together.

The most magical place I've ever been. The town is quaint and surrounded by beautiful nature. Everyone I interacted with so genuine and kind. Kelsey who works with the volunteers is an angel who made me feel so safe and seen throughout my time. The work was light and great experience, I never felt overwhelmed. Communication was incredible and we always had access to guidance and help. The accommodations were so cozy, I also loved all my fellow volunteers so so much which made my time extraordinary. I'd love to go back and recommend it to travelers looking to be part of a community.

My 9 nights at the Center were truly special. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the warmth and positive energy of this place. Everyone — the hosts, volunteers, and guests — added their own spark, creating such a kind and uplifting atmosphere. Every day had something meaningful — sharing meals, having deep talks, or just sitting quietly surrounded by nature. the Center isn't just a hostel; it's a beautiful community where you feel supported, inspired, and at peace. Saying goodbye wasn't easy. Now I've found an extended family here. I'm so grateful for the time I had and can't wait to come back.

I had the most amazing time in the Center. The community is warm and open, and I met so many lovely people - fellow volunteers and locals - and always felt welcomed and included. The surroundings are beautiful, plenty to explore in your free time. With the work (loved painting the windows) I really appreciated how flexible the schedule was, which gave me space to enjoy the days however I wanted. Kelsey was such a wonderful host — she trusted us completely and always made us feel that our work was truly appreciated. I'm really grateful for my time here and would recommend the Center to anyone!

Had a great experience working with Heretta. I was able to hand over some tasks with lots of little details and tool care with full trust. She did an excellent job on painting and working with linseedoil paint making an impressive impact on the care of the main building and the volunteer house. All the volunteers went out of their way to give positive feedback about Heretta and her capacity to figure things out with her handy, creative skills. She is welcome back anytime for a visit :)

I could honestly write pages about the impact this special place had on me. This was my first Worldpackers experience, and it truly changed my life, from the lifelong friends I made, to the deep, spiritual immersion this beautiful, fairytale-like community offered me. the Center will forever be in my heart. Everyone in the village is so kind and caring. A huge thank you to Kelsey for being an incredible host and friend. If you're contemplating applying for this experience- APPLY! It was everything I could have wished for and more.

I feel so lucky to have spent a month at the Center. I worked remotely while volunteering ~5 hrs a week and truly wish I'd had more time to help and spend time with everyone—Kelsey is a wonderful and warm leader. I loved getting to see the sense of community here, and was grateful that it was both close-knit and welcoming. I would recommend this for people who are engaging and open-minded because if you're looking for it, you can find everything you need here. My only suggestion would be to make the range of activities clearer so you can dive in sooner—there's so much to do and explore here :)

Fridheim is a realy beautiful place and the people living here are so nice ! The volonteers apartment is realy comfy. Kelsie, who is in charge of the volonteers, take time to ensure that we have everything we need and explain us clearly our tasks The rest of the village is very welcolming, with a strong community spirit The only negative point is that I was the only guy in the volonteer house, making it somewhat difficult to find my place, not being used to cohabitate with so many girls But everything else was great and I recommend the place, especialy if you like nature and quiet

Sylvain came to us to rest on his big adventure traveling around the world. Grateful he could give himself the time to relax here and take a break from carrying his heavy bag. He was a big help with taking care of some basics in our cars that they were in desperate need of attention from someone like him who had the basic knowledge. He tackled cutting down a bunch of small trees and found his way though a volunteer team of all girls! Thank you Sylvain!

Silvia is calm and with that comes deep caring for her surroundings. With the people around her but also her environment. Silvia took good care and responsibility of the garden. The volunteers who lived with her will miss all the laughs and quiet moments in the kitchen, the baking, the smell of coffee, her generosity. Silvia will be missed and is ALWAYS welcome to come back to recharge, to surrender to catch some breaths when life becomes to scheduled. Keep your spontaneity. -by Gigi

I had an incredible time at the Center and was lucky enough that the folk festival was on the first few days that I was there. Kelsey made me feel super welcome. I primarily did marketing, but I was also able to help in the garden and do some light cleaning and cooking during the Monday meetings. On the afternoons and weekends, I went swimming in the lake, walking in the forest. Additionally, I also got to try bow shooting, yoga, ceramics, women's circle, live music, among many other things. I miss the Center, the community and the fellow volunteers already and would highly recommend it ❤️
