Step into Mae Na Chang, a vibrant Karen village in Thailand's Mae Hong Son province, where Buddhist and Christian traditions harmoniously blend with the rhythms of nature. Take part in daily Karen activities such as farming, animal care, weaving, teaching and learn how to prepare and cook traditional Karen meals.

What you offer
5 hours of help per day
Kitchen Hand:
Help prepare, finish and serve meals.
Animal Care:
Help look after and take care of animals.
Farming:
Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Description:
Volunteers contribute $10 a day which goes towards the cost of meals and includes a donation to the school and village.
What you get

Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Free Tours:
We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!
Free Hiking Tours:
We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Use our equipped kitchen:

Program Details
Teaching and Farming Volunteer Program
Mae Na Chang School, Karen Village
This immersive 4-day volunteer program offers participants a unique opportunity to contribute to rural education while experiencing traditional Karen farming practices at Mae Na Chang school. The program combines educational support with hands-on agricultural activities, providing volunteers with a comprehensive understanding of life in a Karen village. We also provide some activities for volunteers such as hiking trips, a visit to a waterfall and camping.
