I had a wonderful experience at the Center. Pascaline does a fantastic job of making volunteers feel truly at home. Her warmth, organisation, and the way she brings people together through events really makes the stay special. The café was an absolute highlight. It was lovely meeting the locals, and the team I was there with were incredibly kind and welcoming. The whole environment felt calm, supportive, and full of genuine connection. I would recommend the Center to anyone wanting to take a breath away from the hustle, reset, and enjoy a meaningful, recharging experience.

It is really hard to find words to describe the experience at the Center. From the very first day, you are warmly welcomed by the lovely Pascaline, who clearly shows so much love and respect for the place and its history. You immediately feel like you belong and that your contribution really matters. Everything is very organized, with a weekly schedule, and free hours give you full independence. During work, just be proactive. Tasks are easy, just follow the guide and do them. Enjoy the city, the Saturday coffee, locals and all the beautiful rooms. One month passes quickly, so enjoy everything!

I'm immensely grateful to have been part of the team with the wonderful girls: Arlene, Mylene, and Kylie. Together, we dove into many cleaning and organizing tasks, and it was very rewarding to see the change we managed to bring to the place. Every effort was worth it! I also want to thank Pascaline. I recognize the kindness she possesses, but I know that days at the café are more challenging, and at times her behavior was more... intense, that's why I think she can improve in that aspect. the Center will be held dearly in my heart!

I will improve when I will have a cook in the kitchen… Cooking for the cafe is not my job! 😉 Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

I thoroughly enjoyed my time,it's a beautiful & peaceful place.Work hours were always respected & the chores were simple & manageable.I think this experience suits volunteers who have initiative, those who can spot projects that need sorting or organising & who genuinely want to help the charity thrive. The food was great; some days we cooked for ourselves, but mostly the meals were prepared for us.New volunteers may want a quick run-through the night before about how the café operates & what's on the menu,to make the 1st day alittle easier.Overall, it was a meaningful experience & I'd recommend!

It was a privilege to be at the Center. Tasks vary depending on what's happening plus the daily/weekly tasks. These include cleaning, preparing rooms, kitchen-related (serving and cleaning up), etc. Saturdays are busy with cafe prep, serving, and clean up. The Great Hall comes alive with the local community. The walled garden is amazing and I enjoyed the Wednesday night meditations. Volunteers keep the Center going — come with a desire to help out and a proactive frame of mind (and heart). Pascaline, the manager, is generous and caring. She's the real heart of the Center. Thank you, Pascaline.🙏

The Center is a truly special place - full of history, beauty, and calm. The space is inspiring, the energy peaceful, and the architecture stunning. The schedule is clear and well-structured - no chaos, fair hours, and time for yourself. The location near Oxford adds even more value - it's easy to explore this famous city and nearby charming towns. A very special thank you goes to the amazing manager, Pascaline - the kindest, most supportive and fair manager. She makes the place feel like home where you feel safe and seen from day one. Highly recommended for volunteering experience.

The Center is steeped in history and stories, and I loved having time to soak it all in—whether wandering the gardens, cooking vegetarian meals, working with friends, or sitting quietly in the old spaces. Along the way, I made friendships I know will last. I leave with peace, connection, and many happy memories—from laughter in the kitchen to the simple pleasure of enjoying the garden. I'd recommend this experience to anyone who values community, creativity, meaningful conversations, and the chance to slow down while contributing.

The place is comfortable, amazing food, the facilities makes you feel at home, you have plenty of space if you want to work remotely or just relax and read a book in an ancient library.
