I had an okay time at Athen the hostel. Stam is welcoming, clear and accommodating of my needs. The hours and jobs were respected. I found that this volunteering position was missing real collaborative aspect with volunteers being separated in different (female only) dorms and having to share rooms with guests instead. Although the general atmosphere was social, without actual quality time spent together with other volunteers, it didn't feel very intimate. The staff rarely interacted with volunteers on shift and some made inappropriate comments about other guests/volunteers.

The schedule was sent out within a good time frame. You get to switch between helping at the bar for the night shift and then help in the kitchen in the morning. I liked the hours because it gave a great amount of time to explore & immerse yourself in the culture. Athens is HUGE so all that time was really needed. And the hostel is right next to the metro station. The karaoke nights at the hostel were so much fun, and such a great way to meet other people and have some fun. The only thing it that some of the workers weren't super friendly. But Shoutout to Anna, Georgia, Thanos & Nikiforos!!<3

The hostel was my first volunteer experience. The staff were very friendly and generally helpful. Our room was clean, and I worked four hours a day, either in the kitchen or at the bar. There was generally no work other than washing dishes. The chefs and Georgia are lovely people. Thank you for everything. I'll miss you :)

I had a great experience, but maybe you could specify in the description that the work only consists of dishwashing because I wasn't expecting it from the description.

The hostel was a great first travel experience. It's a really social hostel with lots to keep you entertained. The work was easy and rooms were kept clean. Lovely reception, bar and kitchen staff!

They have two hostels, and I was in the hostel. This one is a new hostel with a gym, yoga room, cinema room, co-working space and shared kitchen. The food from their restaurant is pretty good. Normally they have morning, afternoon and evening shift. Each shift is four hours. They always respect the time which is nice. Our job is just washing dishes, please note that there is no bartending job. The job is easy here, but sometimes I feel confused because they don't really explain what I should do. And sometimes we have to share the room with guests. All in all, I had a good time there.

I stayed at the hostel, where the facilities were really nice as the building is new. The room was nice and although it's further from the centre the metro is really close and the area is peaceful. The volunteers got along well, however we were not made to feel welcome by the hostels staff. The working hours were respected, however there was a lot of miscommunication about what the job is and what perks we get. I did enjoy my time and exploring Athens, but it did bother me how unorganised the management seemed to be.

The hostel is modern, very clean, and well-equipped (gym, cinema…). The rooms are spacious with two private bathrooms, and some of the staff were kind. However, I didn't feel very welcomed as a volunteer. There was no proper tour or introduction, and the atmosphere felt more professional than friendly. The tasks didn't match the description (the bar was closed, so we only worked in the kitchen). We brought it up, but nothing really changed. Athens is amazing, and the group of volunteers was great.

I volunteered at the hostel for 4 weeks. The location felt safe, the metro was close, and the building, especially the volunteers' room, was lovely. The owner was open to communication, which I appreciated. However, I believe the experience could be improved with clearer and warmer guidance for new volunteers, more transparency about roles (the only task was dishwashing), and ensuring the volunteers' room is reserved exclusively for volunteers, not for guests (as they said in the begining). With small improvements, this could be a truly great place to volunteer! 💗

The the hostel is super new and very nice. The room was great, it had 2 bathrooms, the beds were new and had big windows. The location was a little far from the center but it was next to the metro and the neighborhood was very quiet. The common areas were wonderful, both the cafe and the gym and others. My shift was painting and it is something I love to do and it was very good, even though there were some miscommunications with the owner. I wish the staff were more welcoming. When I arrived my bed was not clean and no one explained anything about the hostel to me. I missed hostel vibes.
