Volunteering in the community was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I'm incredibly grateful for the four weeks I was able to spend here. The community is extremely welcoming, warm, and kind, and you truly get the chance to immerse yourself in local life. Attending a traditional wedding and a celebration for a newborn were just some of the unforgettable experiences I had. Teaching here was deeply rewarding, as education is truly valued by everyone. I will never forget this month, and I would highly recommend volunteering here to anyone.

Truly the most beautiful volunteering experience I've had! You're immediately welcomed into the community and looked after in every way possible. I'm truly moved by the kindness and generosity of everyone there. You are immersed in their culture in ways you wouldn't have access to otherwise and Mr Ahyak always ensured that everyone felt comfortable. I couldn't recommend this place more, thank you so much.

I feel truly grateful for this experience. I had a wonderful time at the home. Everyone in the community was incredibly kind and welcoming, and I immediately felt at home. It's a beautiful way to learn and experience Indonesian culture and traditions in a very authentic way. I will always keep this memory in my heart, and I definitely recommend it! Terima kasih :)

Volunteering in the home has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Mr Ahyak, his family and his community welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like part of the family from the very beginning. I taught to students who were incredibly eager to learn and improve their English skills. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and warmth made every lesson both enjoyable and meaningful. I also learned so much about local traditions, customs and the everyday life of the people in the home. I recommend this experience to anyone wants to immerse themselves in a rich and welcoming culture

This was my first volunteering experience and i had the most amazing time ever. Mr Ahyak was such a wonderful host. His family and community are the most kind hearted people you will meet. He cares deeply about his projects which i greatly admire. There are not enough words in the world that could describe how much of a big impact this experience has left on me. From teaching english to amazing children, becoming family with people from across the world, immersing in local culture, exploring a less touristy part of the home, it was truly the best! I will definitely be returning to the home:)

Every single aspect of this project has left me speechless! I am beyond grateful for what I've experienced with the home. LHA has been a true family away from home: every single person in the community have pushed themselves beyond their limits to make me feel safe and comfortable at all times. The classes I've been assigned made me learn at least double what I taught. Not to forget: amazing accommodations, lovely food, meaningful connections, incredibly well-prepared and friendly staff, heartfelt hospitality everywhere… all in the name of the highest ideals of community.

I stayed in Bello Bungalows, one of the homestays that are part of the home. It is beautiful place and I have heard from other volunteers that other places are equally beautiful and nice 🙌 My tasks were connected with taking photos of experiences and rooms that are in homestays so then it could be used for promotion. I had extended my stay because it was that amazing, Mr Ahyek made me feel needed, safe, engaged into community in culture. His vision of tourism in this region is really something inspiring!

There is no word to describe how amazing this journey in volunteering has been. I have spent a lovely time doing this program. Mr Ahyak was very helpful and made sure to treat us well. So did my host family. They have welcomed me as if I was one of their own. I had to teach two hours a day English to children between 5 to 14 years old. And the teaching was in the afternoon so I had the whole morning free to do what I wanted to. I would definitely recommend to live this life changing experience.
