The experience

You'll be teaching kids aged 5-14 in either private lesson or one on one. Teaching around 4 classes a day. The volunteer create PowerPoint with particular subject for teaching. I will provide the laptop to support that. Volunteer must be kid-friendly, creative and patient in teaching English as some of the students will be shy in the beginning. The volunteers must be fluent in English in order to give correct pronounciation.

What you offer

4 hours of help per day

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

1 day off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Fluent English or Fluent Indonesian

Between 18 and 45 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

Native speaking volunteers are welcomed.
To help with the correct pronunciation.
To help teaching particular topics. For example the topics for monday group class is about parts of human body. So, the volunteer create a PowerPoint Presentation about it. The PowerPoint presentation can be used for both private and group class which have same level and can be used for some meeting as well because the students may not remember the vocabularies. I will provide the laptop to support that.
For group class we will do it together because there are around 10 students for group class. However, for private class I expect the volunteer to do it alone. Only 1 to 2 students (sibling class) for private class. I hope you are ready for this.
If volunteer has ideas for English games, let us know.

Activities & Shift

4hr in a day for volunteer. Each classes take an hour (60 minutes) per meeting. So each hour will be different students. It may be group or private class.

For the schecule:
On Monday to Friday classes start at 2 PM - 8 pm.
On Saturday is a bit hectic because they are private classes. Class starts at 10 AM to 8 PM. But don't be shock. Your classes are only 4 hours can be in the morning, afternoon or evening for Saturday.

For group class we will do it together because there are around 10 students for group class. However, for private class I expect the volunteer to do it alone. Only 1 to 2 students (sibling class) for private class. I hope you are ready for this.

Sunday is time off.

Rules

The volunteers are prohibited to smoke inside the house. No drinking alcohol. No drugs. No weapons. No LGBT ostensible items. (Noted: This doesn't mean I am anti LGBT. If you are, just keep it yourself. People may not used to it. That's what I mean). During the class the volunteer must follow a proper dress code (short sleeves are fine for the top and cullote or pants but not hot pants during classes).
No eating and no yelling at children. Yes you can bring a bottle of water during classes. You may be thirsty.
