What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 6 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Donation to project

Description: Non-Refundable Payment Policy We encourage all volunteers to carefully consider their plans before committing to the program. The funds collected are directly allocated to supporting the local women artisans, maintaining the volunteer house, and sustaining our fair trade initiatives.

Requirements

Beginner Spanish or Fluent English

Between 21 and 40 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Be from outside Guatemala

Program Details

By volunteering with us, you'll not only contribute to our mission but also gain hands-on experience in a culturally rich environment. You'll learn about the intricacies of textile production, the importance of fair trade, and the beauty of Guatemalan culture—all while enjoying the warmth of our community.

This role and our location in Xela, also offers and excellent opportunity for volunteers to learn or improve Spanish. We encourage you to practice Spanish with our team and immerse yourself in the language through daily interactions.


Activities & Shift

3 hours of work from Monday- Friday, usually 2:00-5:00pm.


Rules

The minimum time to stay with us is six weeks. Volunteers are expected to commit to the agreed-upon schedule and duration of their stay. If circumstances change, communicate as soon as possible.

Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards staff, fellow volunteers, and visitors.

If you are a guy, please keep the environment professional towards the ladies who volunteer with us.

Be open and respectful of local customs, traditions, and the cultural background of the community. Engage with an open mind and willingness to learn.

Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and activities. If late or unable to attend, notify the staff in advance.

Parties, smoking, drugs and unrespectful vocabulary are not allowed to use or misconducted in our facilities.

When staying at our place, you are allowed to bring people to visit but not to stay at Trama Textiles, unless they mean to stay with us.

1. Non-Refundable Payment
Once a volunteer is accepted into our program and the required payment is made, the fee becomes non-refundable. This applies regardless of the reason for withdrawal, including personal circumstances, travel changes, or early departure from the program. Payments help cover the operational costs of Trama House, ensuring that we can continue providing a safe and comfortable space for volunteers.
