I absolutely recommend volunteering here if you want to be immersed in the culture and enjoy a fun, slow-paced lifestyle with a local family. :) The work was simple and respected. I stayed during a slower season, so it was the perfect mix of relaxed work during the week and busy weekends. The hotel's location is absolutely stunning. The only downside is that it's a 40-minute walk to the town/store, and you'll need a car to reach many of the best hikes. However, if you mention you need something, Edon is happy to help you get a ride. Overall, Edon and his family were so kind and awesome!!🫶🏻

Thank you to the whole family for welcoming me during my stay. Specifically Dolinda and her children and Lola <3. I worked every evening from roughly 5-10pm delivering food and washed dishes, however it was off season so some nights I only had an hour or so of work. As others have said there's a few hikes nearby but not much else to do so it was very quiet without any other volunteers but I enjoyed the peacefulness. And a big thank you to Ramush for all the wonderful meals he cooked for me!! Definitely message me if you have any questions abt this experience.

I had a really good experience here! The place is beautiful and the work atmosphere is great. I worked in the kitchen during the evening shift and really enjoyed it. Linda and Rasmus are such lovely and kind people, always patient, fun, and easy to work with. Thanks again to Edon and the whole family for everything! ✨🥰

Highlights ofthe lodge's are the beautiful landscape and all self made food! The evening shift is only washing dishes but the kitchen crew is absolutely lovely and I was actually looking forward to work every day because it was a lot of fun with them! The young seasonal waiters had some difficulties with recognising and accepting personal boundaries and within the crew there was often quite a rough tone and raised voices. The whole atmosphere is really familiar and it's nice to be treated like a friend and not a worker but sometimes it even got inappropriate and unprofessional.

I had a good time at the lodgeand met amazing volunteers. I worked the morning shift (7–12), helping with breakfast. The surrounding nature is beautiful with nice hiking options, but keep in mind the area is very quiet and the nearest town is a 50-minute walk. The staff is friendly and enjoy joking around, often treating volunteers more like friends than employees. Which makes it important to maintain personal boundaries. There were a few situations involving other volunteers that the staff did not handle well, so that's something to keep in mind. The breakfast and dinners were amazing every day!

When I arrived, I had to take a taxi at my own expense Edon reimbursed me a few days later. When I got to the lodging house, I wanted to leave immediately. There are 10 beds in the room where volunteers stay with no room to store your personal belongings and no security for your belongings. There is barely a pathway in between beds. The bathroom door to the shower doesn't close. You have to put a shelf in front of it to have it "barricaded" for security. It was 5 hours of washing dishes every day. Food was provided, but only when they said you could eat. They often didn't feed you until 9pm.

My two weeks volunteering at the lodgeKaty in Montenegro were truly an amazing experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the people I met were kind, creating strong friendships along the way. The work was rewarding, with manageable shifts that left plenty of time to explore the beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed stunning hikes through nature, and I loved how the community emphasized sustainable living practices. It was a perfect balance of meaningful work and free time.

This is a great opportunity that allows you to explore the national park area and go on incredible hikes. The host family is very friendly and does everything possible to make sure volunteers are happy and comfortable. The work is pretty easy and you will not need to spend money much at all during the stay. You do need to be assertive though and speak up/call when you need help because you will likely be left alone sometimes. Also apart from hiking there is not much else to do the place is a 45 min walk from the nearest town/market. But you can likely get a ride there from the hosts.

I had a wonderful experience atthe lodge! Doni and his family immediately created a welcoming and respectful environment and I felt like I was part of a family. The hours were respected, I worked 7 to 12 on breakfast shift and had the rest of the day to explore or have my own free time. I had some really meaningful experiences and I am grateful to everyone at the lodgefor making my stay so comfortable. The other volunteers were great, I would go back in a heartbeat!
