The experience

Join us in Chengdu, as a Volunteer Basketball Coach and inspire young Chinese basketball enthusiasts! You'll teach fundamental skills and advanced techniques using a structured syllabus developed with the NBA, supported by bilingual resources in English and Chinese. This role offers a chance to share your passion, gain coaching experience, and help players build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game in a professional environment.


What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English or Beginner Chinese

Between 18 and 40 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

The Basketball Coaching Program at NBA HOOP PARK, Chengdu, offers kids aged 6 to 18+ top-tier training aligned with NBA standards. Using a bilingual syllabus, the program develops skills, techniques, teamwork, and sportsmanship through engaging drills and gameplay. It provides a professional yet fun environment to nurture talent, build confidence, and inspire a lifelong passion for basketball.


Activities & Shift

As a volunteer coach at NBA HOOP PARK, you’ll lead training sessions and mentor players.

On weekends, you'll work full days, focusing on intensive drills and events.

During weekdays, shifts are in the morning and evening, allowing flexibility during the day.

Event days require extra hours, but they count toward your weekly total—30 hours/week with two days off. If you’ve completed 30 hours, you get extra time off. Full-day availability is needed during events.
