Program Details
As a volunteer at Rancho Kadena, you’ll play a key role in helping us finish our house and maintain the farm. We are a family of DIY-ers and have built everything ourselves so far!
We’re looking for enthusiastic, proactive individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and embrace a variety of tasks. While no specific skills are required, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability are essential.
Some of the daily tasks you can expect to help us with:
- Manual labor related to building such as painting, maintenance, working with concrete, welding, or woodworking.
- Daily farm tasks such as, feeding animals, dog walking, repair/maintenance, light gardening/planting, etc..
Most of the focus will be on completing our house, so volunteers should be prepared for hands-on building work. We value any skills you have, and we’ll provide guidance for any unfamiliar tasks.
Activities & Shift
We are very laid back with our working schedule and are willing to work with you to come up with a schedule that works for everyone so you can maximize your time here while also helping us with any tasks needed.
We work anywhere between 4-6 hours per day (20-30 hrs/week) depending on the tasks for that week. You will always have Saturdays off.
We usually work early morning - early afternoon, or early afternoon - early evening.
Rules
-Be respectful always!
- You will be staying in our house and sharing the common spaces with us, so we expect you to clean up after yourself and treat the area as your own!
- Be communicative! Let us know if there's anything we can help you with!
