People are kind to you, but the opportunities offered are insufficient for the workload required of you. The preliminary information given to volunteers needs to be more detailed and explanatory. You'll have to stand for long hours three days a week. Boracay is a truly expensive island, and with the discounts and meal allowances you receive, you won't be able to buy the cheapest meal there. Businesses that want volunteers to work long hours should offer them more suitable opportunities.

I arrived, not beeing welcomend or anyone beeing there to awnser my questions. I left the accomandation after two days, since I coudnt sleep do to the extremly loud noises from outside (even with earplugs). Besides the room was very dirty with hair everywhere. There wasnt WiFi wich was promised and after I asked for it they respondes with "we will check that", but Nobody did. The Manager who Seemed pretty kind, told me that I wont recive meals, but 190pesos a day. With that you can maybe get the cheapest breakfast on the island, but not mo. Overall the experience was not as promised online!

I spent 3 weeks in Boracay with the host. The work was fun, and Luigi the host is very kind, later promising to set house rules, though I wish he had acted sooner. Unfortunately, the stay felt unsafe: I was bullied by other volunteers for being Arab and Muslim, mocked for not drinking alchohol or having sex, and on my 3rd day an American boy was brought by them into the house and entered my room without permission while I was sleeping. This violation of privacy and respect made the experience very uncomfortable and i decided to end my experience by 2nd week, if you volunteer, talk to Luigi.

Unfortunately we needed to cut our time volunteering at the host Beach Club short, as there was a clear lack of communication and upon trying to ask if there were problems or ways to improve, we weren't answered, but instead they wrote passive aggressive messages into the Group chat saying that they're unhappy with the whole situation. Another volunteer who started a bit earlier than us left early too, only a couple of days after us for the same reasons. I was shocked by the work environment and attitude, as I've volunteered at a hostel before and had the best experience.

Almost 2 years of solo travel, and 17+ volunteering, this is first I've left early. 2 other volunteers left early during my stay because of the work environment. Volunteer management and team communication lack, specifically Nina the volunteer manager. Her lack of direct and/or constructive communication has created an environment where efforts are misunderstood and undervalued. My first week I asked Luigi, the host, for ways to improve/what I could do better, he always took the time to sit down and understand. but I enjoyed my last night more than my first two weeks. That speaks volumes.

My experience in the host was very nice, The room they have was very good And the work was easy and fun I think is important to you like the party to this position to can enjoy the volunteering, Luigi was nice with us, I never felt something bad about him. And the island is incredible 😍🌴 Thanks you so much for this experience.

My experience at the hostel was totally rewarding. The staff is very charming, the manager Luigi, is very close and makes your stay pleasant and comfortable, you do not lack anything. The activities are really fun and so are the clients, not to mention that the hostel is amazing, the best hostel I have ever stayed in. I highly recommend the experience and I am very grateful that they have counted on me, kisses and lots of love ♥️

La experiencia en Boracay muy buena!! El trabajo se puede hacer pesado porque a veces son muchas horas las cuales se sienten innecesarias. Pero si no te importa pasearte por la playa invitando a gente, sacar a bailar a desconocidos y animar una fiesta 5 dias a la semana, te lo pasarás muy bien. La isla es una maravilla y hay mucha vidilla. La habitación sencilla pero suficiente y Luigi siempre responderá ante cualquier cosa que te preocupe o te parezca que se tenga que cambiar. Toda la familia de Aplaya/el anfitrión te acogerá sin problemas siempre que respetes y trates bien a todo el mundo.
