Program Details

1. Computer literacy courses are Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm (you can pick 3 hours from this range).
2. Baking courses are twice a week, days and times vary on moms' availabilities.
3. Sharing circle is once per week.
4. Food drives we're trying to increase to 3x per year but it depends on resources.
5. Menstrual program we're trying to increase to 5x per year.
You'll stay at a private residence in Kawangware, Nairobi. You'll live with Christine (NGO founder), Joyce (baking instructor and Christine's mom), and Christine's two siblings and two children. We have a bunk bed you can use . You can eat family meals with us! We can meet you and bring you to the facility using local transport or you can use a taxi if you'd like. We can help you to arrange tours and show you around town.

Activities & Shift

We would love for you to share your computer skills with our students! Their computer literacy varies from none at all (not knowing how to double click, click & dragging, etc.) to some basic skills. If you know a specific program (Photoshop, Xcel, etc.) do teach it to us, but even showing the kids how to use email is helpful. You can feel free to design your own classes in collaboration with Christine.
You can help Joyce with baking, especially if you bake pastries.
If you have experience or licenses in mental health counselling, we could really use your help at our circles and you can train us, too.
You can help with social media posts, grant writing, fundraising and update our website.
If you're here during a food drive or menstrual program, you can help us with the execution of these operations.
You can contribute new ideas to the organization and help us progress!
