Program Details

They main project we will be working on is restorative work on our wooden boats.
The wooden boats are disappearing from the harbours as there is almost no more fishing. By being creative and crafty we try to keep the cultural heritage alive, while creating a fantastic environment in the harbours.
With boats like this there is a lot of maintenance and we could really use an extra hand making this idealistic project come true. The work could imply multiple tasks from building, sandpapering, painting or other more or less ship relevant tasks.

Activities & Shift

We will take it very much case by case, day by day depending on your skills and the weather.
⚒️ Volunteer Tasks:
Join us in breathing life back into these historic vessels:
Sanding and varnishing wood
Repairing boat structures
Cleaning and maintaining tools and workspace
Learning and preserving traditional boat-building techniques
No prior experience is required—just a love for working with your hands and a willingness to learn!

Rules

No smoking on the boats.
If you destroy anything during the stay you will of course cover for what is broken.
The boats have a lovely spot in Nexø Habour, where we rent a spot. Most of them are covered by acting decent, not being to noisy and all the standard elements :)
