The experience

Make a difference in Bali by teaching essential water safety skills to local children! ๐ŸŒด Despite being surrounded by the ocean, many kids in Indonesia don't know how to swim. As a volunteer, you'll play a crucial role in preventing childhood drownings by helping deliver our survival swimming program.


What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 500 Per week

Description: he minimum period for volunteering in Swimdo is two weeks, with $1000 fee that covers accommodation, airport pick up and drop off, breakfast and dinner during teaching days (Monday - Friday), Transportation from the accommodation to teaching location, and one cultural tours. We also provide a volunteer assistant to help you settle and assist you during your stay.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Program Details

During your time volunteering, you will get to stay in Keramas village and experience to witness how the local Balinese life with their culture and religious practice that is very unique. Working alongside our local coordinators and instructors will build you a lifetime friendship and connection. Your main task is to teach local children survival swimming skills and safe rescue technic, and increase the community awareness on water safety through our community outreach program.


Activities & Shift

Duration:
During your two-week volunteering journey with Swimdo, you will work five days a week, from Monday to Friday. Hereโ€™s what a typical day looks like:

Monday - Friday:
Begin each day with a Bahasa Indonesia class, followed by community service in a local daycare or primary school teaching English.
In the afternoons, youโ€™ll prepare for and conduct Swimdo sessions, teaching water safety and survival swimming to local children.
Each day ends with a brief class evaluation and a chance to enjoy local dining.

Weekend (Saturday - Sunday):
Free time to explore Bali. Volunteers are encouraged to visit cultural sites, enjoy the beaches, or relax and experience the local lifestyle attending ceremonies, surfing and visiting temples.

1. Comfortable swimmer (lifeguard
certification, and experience in
teaching swimming is a plus but
not required).
