This is a great place if you are looking for a different learning experience surrounded by nature. The place is beautiful, and you can learn all that goes behind butterfly houses. This while sharing with amazing people who will be more that happy to teach you about the country and their biodiversity. Jenny and her family are the sweetest people ever, and you can see the love they have for this place. The tasks vary a lot and there is always something new to learn and do. It's also nice that they motivate you to bring your own skills and interests. Thanks for this amazing month! :)

I had an amazing time at the host. They made me feel at home really easily. I loved how much they loved sharing their culture and nature. We did many things together, like going on trips for example, but they're also really chill and give you the time and space to be alone when you need it. The work is really relaxing and gratifying, and you have a lot of freedom within the work. Most importantly, they are all extremely friendly and welcoming. Would 100% recommend!

I had a great time at my stay in the host. Everyone is very open and nice and they make sure to make you feel at home and like part of the family. The work with the butterflies is relaxing and you always have a say in what tasks you can and want to do. Because I like to paint my tasks included painting a lot of signs and other stuff. We also did other activities like visiting a volcano or viewpoints which was so fun. In conclusion, I feel like it was such an amazing experience and I will miss the people I have met there and became friends with.

My time at the host was one of the best experiences I have ever had. This place and the wonderful local family that runs it have changed my life. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to immerse myself in the culture, practice my Spanish, and get in touch with nature in a new way. Being able to care for the butterflies at every stage of their life taught me that change takes time and every step of the process is important. the host brought me not only amazing memories, but also people who will hold a place in my heart forever. Pura Vida! 🦋🩷🌱

I loved my time at the host. Alberto and the rest of his family truly made me feel at home. The food was great, and I felt like I was contributing to meaningful work on their the host. I learned so much about Tico culture and butterflies. This was truly an incredible experience I would reccomend to anyone seeking to reconnect with nature and contribute to a sustainable project in a meaningful way.

I had an amazing experience at the host! Alberto and his family were incredibly welcoming and committed to making sure I had a valuable experience. I loved learning about all of the butterflies, caterpillars, and plants, and well as learning about local wildlife. If you are volunteering during the rainy season make sure you come prepared with an umbrella and rain jacket as well as shoes that can get dirty. I am also very appreciative that they catered to my vegan dietary restriction and all of the food was delicious! Thank you so much to everyone at the host!

I stayed at the host for almost 1 month. I have learned so much about butterflies and wildlife here. The family is very welcoming and showed us around, took us to sunsets and other beautiful places. The work is easy and flexible but needs attention as you are surrounded by butterflies. It is a very interesting experience. I had the chance to share this experience with other volunteers which allowed me to connect socially. Also having 3 days of allows you to explore other places and move around wich is really nice. Definitely recommend, however keep in mind it is quite remote ;)

Alberto's family and friends were amazing, they treat you like you are a part of their family and always check in on you. They taught us a lot about Tico culture, and helped me with my Spanish vocabulary. They took us to pretty and memorable places in the area. I made a lot of connection both with the locals and international travellers. We had lots of fun hanging out with them. the work that you do really connects you to nature and is enjoyable and easy I miss them already and would definitely recommend them! Muchísimas gracias Alberto, Diana y Jenny por todo y ya extraño el the host !❤️🦋✨

Really loved my stay here. You can learn a lot about butterflies and gardening. The whole family is really lovely, super welcoming and just makes your stay really enjoyable. I stayed at El Cocora which is the second project outside of town and I loved it a lot. A lot of hands-on task. Got always tasks, but could also work independently.

I felt welcomed and taken care of by everyone participating. I really enjoyed learning from Alberto and Dianna, and talking with their parents. It was nice to stay so close to the family home. All of my meals were delicious and it was made clear I could eat as much as I wanted. My bed was very comfy- although I did wake up with a large spider on my wall one night. But that's not something that bothers me. I got to work hands on with the butterflies and learn about the different species and what they eat and helped with trail maintenance in the Cloud forest.would love to volunteer here again:)
