Program Details

We offer exciting volunteering opportunities that allow you to make a difference in the beautiful community of Lombok, Indonesia. Whether you are passionate about community outreach, teaching English, the environment or beach cleanups, we have a program that suits your interests.

English classes are mandatory. We carry out around 3 clean-ups per week, sort the litter and make the eco bricks from the litter we sort to make trash cans for the locals.

As part of your stay we offer an explore day where our guide will show you around the local area and points of interest. We only ask for a contribution for fuel and you will only pay if there is a fee for the excursion. You will also have two free days where you are welcome to explore by yourself or join one of our trips.
We also have an optional jewellery making class.

No formal qualifications are required.

Activities & Shift

Clean ups - we will be carrying out litter picking and clean ups on the beach and in the local villages to try and improve the area and encourage locals to keep the area clean.

Teaching English to local children & adults - No official teaching qualifications are required, however we do ask that you have a good understanding of the English language and you are a confident English speaker.

DIY projects - we are passionate about improving the local area and helping the environment so projects will be centred around that, such as making trash cans to encourage recycling or helping improve the local facilities.

You will work for 1-2 hours in the morning, afternoon and evening. Any other time is your own, although we have lots of optional activities that you may join!

Rules

Our volunteering opportunities are open to everyone, with no age restrictions. We believe that giving back to the community should be accessible to all who are willing to contribute.
The minimum time commitment required for volunteering WITH US is just one week, giving you the chance to immerse yourself in the local culture and make a meaningful impact.
As this is a volunteer programme we are very flexible with your time and the hours you will work, we do however ask that you commit to our English lessons.
You will be staying in, or visiting Muslim and Hindu villages so we ask you to be mindful of the culture and when in the Muslim areas, outside of your homestay, please wear appropriate clothing such as T-shirts and long trousers/skirt.

There is no alcohol allowed on the premises of the homestay, however drinking is permitted, preferably outside of the village.
