I had a good time! The accomodation is really convenient and the landlords (and Mary 😉) are very nice. I especially had a great time during the camp and when designing the treasure hunt. Knut and the rest of the team made me feel useful, so thank you everyone! I've learnt quite a lot about nature, children, gamification, place based education... More details for future volunteers: in July, we spent a week facilitating a camp for kids 4-8 yo and we organised 2 activities for kids 6-12 yo. The rest of the time was divided in several part: theoretical knowledge, design of activities, walking.

Knut and Mary are very patient to guide me through the navigation of the application and the activities. There were also a systemic training before we started facilitating the activities in children camps. I felt very connected to the nature and local environment. the project really prioritizes outdoor activities, the nature education is not only beneficial for kids but also for volunteers. The kids are angels and they were very patient too with my broken german…:) There are two lakes in the city perfect for swimming and hiking trails with the biking distance. Paradise for sport savvy!!

I had a lovely time at Greensteps! I was able to get very involved and feel as though I made a true difference in the community, all while meeting amazing people in the organization. This was time well spent and I could not recommend the experience enough, especially if you love being in nature! They were very flexible with my schedule as well, which was very appreciated.
