I stayed for 4 weeks. The work here is very relaxed, just cleaning thethe hostel room and doing the check in. There were usually 3 volunteers including myself at the guesthouse so that meant I'd only work once every 2 or 3 days. This allowed me plenty of free time to explore Yokohama/Tokyo. I especially recommend if you are wanting to improve your Japanese skills, you can practice Japanese with the friendly staff, Hiro, Kou-chan, Mashi, Minami, Maria! the hostel downstairs is nice and there are lots of fun parties going on. I loved my time here and if I can, I'll certainly come back! Thanks!!

The hostel was my very first volunteer experience, and it will always have a special place in my heart. Yokohama is beautiful on its own, and it's also very well located, making it easy to reach Tokyo. The tasks are simple, from cleaning the place to handling check-ins.The place has the potential to feel like home. As soon as I arrived, I did a deep cleaning and arranged everything to my liking, so it really depends on how you enjoy living. Something I really liked is that you can be very independent .The place itself is lovely and private.I feel very grateful and i hope I can experience it again♥

I had the best time of my life at the hostel! The work is super easy and simple, you clean the guesthouse at 11am then check in the guests from 5pm. The room you stay in is great, its on the third floor and is very spacious, most of the time you will be the only volunteer so you get the room to yourself. the hostelitself is lovely too, super vibrant and great atmosphere. The best part about the hostel is the people, they are all so kind and really made me feel like part of a family. It was very upsetting having to leave and I will miss everyone so much :') I really hope I can come back soon!

I had an unforgettable experience at the hostel! The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and included and it wouldn't have been the same without them. the hostelis on the first floor, the guesthouse is on the second, and volunteers stay on the third floor. The work is super easy and takes at most an hour in the morning to clean the room, then check-in is later in the day from 5pm-10pm. It is in a great area and really easy to travel around Yokohama, Tokyo, and other places! I feel like I have a little family here and will definitely be coming back in the future!

I will never forget my time the hostel! The private room is super nice after staying in dorms for a long time. The work is easy and fair. A lot of free time and hanging out in the hostel. If you like music this is the place for you. The staff members are so sweet and take good care of you. You get to meet a lot of locals and other travellers. I hope I will come back to the hostel someday! <3

I spent 3 great weeks, volunteering at ArtBaboo and for my first time it was really nice staying there. The workload is really light and I got to spend a lot of free time. You can make the best day trips (Tokyo, Kamakura,….) and Yokohama itself is not as crowded and super chill :) I met wonderful people from the staff Koichi and Hiro to the other volunteers and you will have the chance to connect with the locals on evenings with cooking, music and dancing! Be aware that the space is quite spartan, but you can always make things work, haha. Thank you for having me!!

I really enjoyed my time here, all of the people working there, specially the managers Hiro and Koichi, were super nice. the hostel is on the 1st floor, the guestroom on the 2nd and the volunteers room on the 3rd. Cleaning is easy and quick, altought they don't wash or replace bedsheets for the guests room, which i don't agree. Then you do reception from 5pm to 9:30pm (sometimes you have do to check in's after which is not the best) You don't have a proper kitchen, only a kettle, which makes cooking much harder. I think it could be a bit cleaner, but it's a fun place with a lot of entertainment

Sadly, I would not recommend this place to anybody. The communication is extremely poor and hostile, atmosphere mostly unfriendly, rules are not clearly communicated and if you have any problem you will be met with zero understanding or help. You cannot change bedsheets in the dormitory, they just tell you to spray the dirty ones with fragrance after people check out, which I don't find okay. Me and another volunteer left early because of how we were treated, we did not feel comfortable staying. Nobody cares about the volunteers. The music and location is cool, but for me not worth it.

I would recommend the hostel for the independent traveller looking to really immerse in Japanese culture and practice speaking. The staff were beyond nice and welcoming, always down for a chat and very hospitable. You have the top floor to yourself and the work is straightforward. You clean the guest room and also check in guests. You have days off where you on the train like Kamakura. It's is close to transport and super easy to get to Tokyo although it takes around an hour. Yokohama itself has a lot to offer the guests the hostel in the middle of Chinatown and many other parks and restaurants close
