My partner & I loved volunteering here, in the center of Punta Arenas. We felt at home with Gustavo & his dogs: Nala & Thor(the cutest sweetest ever). Gustavo is super chill, funny, great cook, & runs the hostal well. Schedule's sent on Mon. for the week. We were easily able to combine some days off to go to Torres del Paine. The work is chill: cleaning/checkouts in the a.m., laundry/check-ins in the afternoon. Lots of guests from Chile/Argentina to practice my Spanish with. Volunteer here! & bring with you some playadito for Gustavo, hes probably running low by now.

My experience was great! Gustavo is very friendly and made us feel super comfortable at the hostal, plus he served really good meals. We received the weekly work schedule in advance, which really helps with time management, and the working hours are fully respected! The tasks are easygoing: basic cleaning and room organization, setting up the breakfast tables, and doing the dishes. I highly recommend this experience!

I had a wonderful time volunteering at Haikén Hostal. Gustavo is a lovely host, along with his two dogs, Nala and Thor. I shared a room with other volunteers and was grateful for the delicious meals Gustavo provided three times per day. I also had free access to laundry. Expectations were clear and I appreciated receiving my schedule at the start of each week. Morning/afternoon shifts included cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, common spaces, and the kitchen. Afternoon/evening shifts usually included laundry, checking in guests, and setting up breakfast for the next morning.

Fue requetebién. Sentí el hostal como un hogar donde pasamos unas navidades entretenidas, comiendo muy rico y hasta el viejo pascuero nos hizo regalos a los voluntarios. Gustavo realmente se lo curra para crear un buen ambiente, cocina cada día (vegetariano si quieres) y por Nochebuena nos preparó un salmón 🤤. Las tareas son amenas (hacer camas, pasar aspiradora/mopa, poner lavadora, limpiar baño...) y hay buen compañerismo. La Nala 🐶y el Tor son adorables. En Punta Arenas el clima no suele acompañar (sol, lluvia y viento en el mismo día) así que tenlo en cuenta si quieres salir a visitar.

El voluntariat és collonut! El Gustavo es un bon jan, molt interessat en la cultura catalana. La Nala i el Tor son un tros de pa. Les tasques son senzilles (sobretot relcionat amb la neteja d'habitacions) i ben comunicades. Tots els àpats estan molt bé i són abundants. Punta Arenas és molt tranquil però la majoria de tours son bastant cars. L'hostal és molt tranquil, i el menjador fa patxoca!

El anfitrión fue una gran persona conmigo, aprendí mucho de la cultura chilena, la comida deliciosa, pláticas amenas, compañeros increíbles, el voluntariado fue muy bueno, son cosas sencillas. ¡Viva Chile Po!

El hostel fue mi primera experiencia en voluntariados y me gustó muchísimo. Gustavo con sus mascotas Nala y Toor se convierten en hogar, nunca olvidaré la recibida del primer día 🫂 Las tareas a realizar fueron siempre bien marcadas y fáciles de comprender; Gustavo respetó nuestros horarios al pie de la letra. También fue flexible y nos ayudó organizando nuestros turnos para que podamos realizar un viaje a torres del Paine que planeamos hacer. Con su chispa de sarcasmo pero muy amigable siempre, accedió cada vez que necesitamos algo. Nos cocinó muy rico y nos hizo sentir muy cómodos. GRACIAS!!

Meu tempo no hostel foi incrível, Gustavo é um ótimo anfitrião, cozinha muito bem, é muito gente boa e fez a gente se sentir em casa. As instalações são ótimas, muito confortável e tem aquecimento. Foi perfeita a estadia e no último dia ele levou a gente para dançar numa balada, pretendo voltar para visita-lo pois fizemos um amigo aqui. Indico muito fazer voluntariado no hostel

Mi experiencia en el hostel fue increíble. Durante el tiempo que estuve allí, todas las tareas fueron bien organizadas y respetadas, así como los plazos y horarios establecidos. Fue una oportunidad hermosa de conectar con otros viajeros, intercambiar historias y practicar un poco más mi español en un ambiente acolhedor y tranquilo. Mi anfitrión es una persona excelente, muy respetuosa, comunicativa y sempre dispuesta a ayudar. Me voy con el corazón lleno de gratitud por todo lo que viví y aprendí aquí. ¡Gracias por esta experiencia tan enriquecedora!

Gus es el mejor jefe de jefes, un gran anfitrión con un gran sentido del humor y excelente cocinero. Se puede llegar acuerdos con él, hay buena comunicación y una buena convivencia. Las actividades y la organización del hostal te permiten salir a conocer los atractivos que tiene Punta Arenas. Recomiendo este hermoso proyecto 10 de 10. Gus, nuevamente muchas gracias por el recibimiento y el apoyo, me sumó demasiado.
