Cook with WeVOL in Costa Rica

The experience

Join an expanding volunteer project in Costa Rica and live and eat for free.

WeVOL seeks a part-time cook in exchange for free room and board. The ideal candidate is Costa Rican or a bilingual Spanish/English speaker who can cook healthy and delicious meals using local ingredients.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English and Beginner Spanish

Over 18 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

WeVOL offers meaningful voluntourism and adventure programs supporting English learning in local public schools, reforestation, and community development projects in rural Costa Rica.

WeVOL accepts eager globetrotters who want to experience and give back to Costa Rica in meaningful and memorable ways. WeVOL now seeks a cook to help prepare meals for our volunteer team.

Activities & Shift

Duties include kitchen cleaning and maintenance, and preparing healthy lunches and dinners for the volunteer team. The maximum number of volunteers is 15 per week and food will be purchased. The perfect candidate is bilingual Spanish/English speaker who loves to share time with globetrotters from around the world.
