The experience

In Kibera, over 300 schools face the challenge of lacking playing fields, limiting students' access to essential co-curricular activities. These activities are crucial for children's mental and physical development, offering benefits such as improved cognitive skills, reduced stress, and overall well-being.
By providing playing equipment and access to sports, Saidika is ensuring that the children of Kibera can enjoy co-curricular activities.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Program Details

Acess to co- curriculum activity program is designed to empower individuals who want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and communities in Kibera. Our program invites volunteers from diverse backgrounds to participate in various activities aimed at enhancing educational and recreational opportunities for children, particularly in schools lacking adequate resources.


Activities & Shift

The Sports and Recreation component of Saidika Organization's Volunteer Program aims to provide children in Kibera with opportunities to engage in physical activities that promote teamwork, discipline, and healthy living.
Key activities involved:

Weekly Sports Sessions:

Volunteers will be inolved in weekly sports sessions where children can participate in various sports such as soccer, basketball, netball, and athletics.
Goals: To promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
Sports Days and Tournaments:

Organizing annual sports days and friendly tournaments among different schools in Kibera. Volunteers can help us coordinating events, manage logistics, and encourage participation.
Goals: To foster a sense of community, build friendships, and encourage healthy competition among students.

Additional Laundry Service Fee:
To ensure a comfortable and convenient experience for our volunteers, we offer a weekly laundry service for an additional fee of $3. This fee covers the cost of washing clothes once a week, providing a hassle-free way to keep your clothes clean during your stay.
