The experience

Join our program to connect with people worldwide through tours, workshops, and cultural events that highlight Keelung’s identity. Just 30 minutes from Taipei, we document oral history, host exhibitions, and maintain a welcoming space for meaningful exchanges.


What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.


What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Discounts on Pubs: Get discounts at nearby pubs.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Program Details

Options for Different Backgrounds:
1.Creative Content: Contribute by writing articles, editing, taking photographs, or shooting videos to uncover unique stories in Keelung City, featured on our website blog or social media. Please include a portfolio link when applying.
2.IT/SEO/Design: Support IT, SEO, or design tasks to improve website visibility and aesthetics.
3.Sustainable Art Project: Engage in revitalizing the community through art and interact with elders. Basic Chinese is needed for senior companionship.
4.Housekeeping & Maintenance: Sweep and clean public spaces, bathrooms, and the kitchen.
5.Museum/Living-museum Concept: Develop a Keelung museum or eco-museum proposal, suggesting unique exhibition ideas—private or open-air, permanent or temporary, tied to historical or festival themes.
6.Innovative Ideas: Share ideas that promote our organization's sustainable growth.


Activities & Shift

- Assist in tour execution 0-2 times a week.
- Help with the reception of visiting helpers and general house maintenance once a week.
- No fixed working hours; manage your time freely. Inform the host a week in advance if absent for over 1 day.
- While the schedule is flexible, we expect you to complete tasks within the agreed time.

Application Requirements:
- Provide details about your skills, interests, portfolio link, and any technical devices you'll be using.Additionally, answer the following: How would you handle tasks if help isn’t immediately available? How would you resolve disagreements with others?"
- Motivation to apply.
- Interested in learning and problem-solving.
- Can work independently without constant guidance.
- If your application is over 3 months away, provide evidence like plane tickets or a visa to show your definite plan to visit Taiwan.
- Applicants with less than two weeks of availability should demonstrate outstanding work experience. Provide a portfolio or website for reference.

Attributes:
- We welcome active, responsible volunteers who are willing to learn and solve problems, and immersed in local culture.We expect active participation and independent work, not waiting for instructions.
- Working space is located in the 2F&3F living room, also 1F workshop located in the traditional market.
- Line (Instant Communication APP) and Trello registration are COMPULSORY for program participation and communication.
