The experience
Join us at our hostel in the vibrant Asakusa district of Tokyo! We're looking for volunteers to assist w/ housekeeping, cleaning, and small building repairs. You'll help keep our space welcoming while gaining hands-on experience. In your free time, explore nearby landmarks like the Nitenmon Gate, Asakusa Shrine, and traditional Edo crafts. Afternoons are yours to discover Tokyo’s hidden gems. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and become part of our team
What you offer
24 hours of help per week
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Housekeeping:
Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
What you get
1 day off per week
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Bikes at your disposal:
You can use our bikes any time you want.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
Dedicated Workspace:
Specific space for you to work remotely
Requirements
Intermediate English or Intermediate Japanese
Over 18 years old
Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)
What's not included
Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa
Program Details
Help us with the cleaning shifts and bedmaking :)
Shifts are usually from 9:30 to 13:30. 4h/day for 6 days/week. (then only 5days/week after one month of work!)
Volunteers get accomodation in our mixed dormitories.
You can use the laundry for free during your stay.
Easygoing atmosphere, you'll have your afternoons free to go around!
Activities & Shift
For people speaking conversational Japanese (and who have a valid work-authorized visa), we sometimes also have paid front desk positions.
Rules
Please present a valid visa for working in Japan (working-holiday, student, etc.)
