Help with vegetarian cooking at our hostel in a Georgian village
The experience
We are looking for kitchen help and experienced chefs to help with breakfast and dinner in our hostel. We are well-known in Georgia for our vegetarian cuisine.
We have amazing fresh local veggies, a full pantry and a creative cooking mindset. Perfect place to learn for motivated volunteers or more experienced chefs who can already cook independently.
We usually have around 10 volunteers who help with building, cleaning, gardening and cooking/
What you offer

Kitchen Hand:

Program Details
You'll either be working the breakfast shift 7h-12h or the dinner shift 15h-20h. We've already worked together in the kitchen with a lot of volunteers and with the right motivation we can teach you a lot. We always cook vegetarian and love to get creative with the food and ingredients we have. The amount of people to cook for ranges between 20-50.
Activities & Shift
For breakfast we have a more fixed set of dishes (something sweet, savory, eggs, etc) within which we change it up every day. We have a big recipe book and cooking methods for all different types of dishes so that you can follow. When you are experienced enough you can make your own variations and we'll be open for your ideas as well.
We always have an experienced chef in charge of dinner. Dinner starts with making a menu based on whats seasonal and available and left overs. Our menus follow the ingredients rather than making a menu and buying what we need. Every day we make something completely different with recipes from around the world. Based on your skill set we'll give you tasks to do or we can do the whole process together.
Rules
As said before we have multiple chefs who are in charge of cooking. They will explain to you clearly what has to be done. It's important for us to have volunteers who are good a efficiently following tasks and can work independently and proactively.
