We’re looking for an outgoing and energetic volunteer to be the Host & Activities Leader at a unique island hostel in the San Bernardo Islands, Colombia. You’ll teach the welcome dance, organize fun activities, promote parties, and ensure guests have an amazing time. Program Details
As the Host & Activities Leader at Casa en el Agua, you’ll teach a daily welcome dance, organize post-dinner games, and create spontaneous activities to keep guests engaged. You’ll have full freedom to design new games and promote events like our Full Moon Party. With 5 working hours a day, 1 day off a week, free accommodation, meals, and a bar discount, it’s the perfect role for an outgoing, creative person!
Activities & Shift
Daily Schedule Overview
• Morning Duties (10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.):
• Prepare and teach the welcome dance: Begin organizing at 10:30 a.m. and lead the 3-minute dance at 11 a.m. when the boat arrives with new guests.
• Engage with guests: Ensure the new arrivals feel welcomed and comfortable. Create an inviting, energetic atmosphere.
• Afternoon Flex Time (Flexible Hours):
• Observe guest behavior—if people are relaxing without much interaction, initiate spontaneous games or activities to bring them together. Examples could include beach games, group discussions, or creative icebreakers.
• Work with other staff to promote the atmosphere and remind guests of upcoming events like the Full Moon Party or DJ sunset set.
• Evening Duties (8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.):
• Post-dinner activities: Lead or organize group games or events to encourage guests to socialize after dinner.
Rules
Work Hours: You are expected to work 5 hours daily, including weekends, with 1 day off per week. Please be punctual, especially for the 11 a.m. welcome dance.
Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive and approachable attitude throughout your shift to ensure the best experience for our guests.
Collaboration: Coordinate with the rest of the staff to ensure smooth operations, particularly for large events.
Respect: Be respectful to guests, staff, and fellow volunteers. Harassment or inap
Cleanliness: Keep the activity areas clean and tidy after games or events. Encourage guests to do the same.
Time Off: Use your day off to rest and recharge but inform management ahead of time if you need to adjust your schedule.
Substance Use: Moderate consumption of alcohol is allowed during your shift, but you must remain professional and not become intoxicated.
