Activities & Shift

Daily shifts are from 8 to 5, but there is a large flexibility when volunteers want to plan other activities.

From 8 to 9 we start with the daily breakfast meeting and some cleanup(breakfast is available opposite the premise for less than 1 euro, or can be made in the volunteer kitchen)

First shift from 9 to 11
Break from 11 to 11.30
Shift from 11.30 to 13.30
Lunch is served from 13.30 to 14.30, can be made vegetarian/ vegan
Final shift from 14.30 to 17.00

Rules

- No smoking in the public areas. Smoking can be done in designated areas away from students.
- The same applies for alcohol.
- To respect the local norms and values, we require volunteers, when in public areas of the premise, to wear clothes covering up to the knees and stomach.
-There is no curfew, we have 24/7 security on site. But be mindful when going out at night, better not go alone by foot. There is usually staff or other volunteers that will want to come with you if you want to do something.
- This is not really a rule, but more something to be mindful of: when you invite the locals/staff to go out for drinks dinner or parties with them, they often expect you to pay, since it is often outside of what they can afford. To avoid uncomfortable situations, when going out with staff, make sure that you are on the same line of expectation with them.
