The experience
Immerse yourself in the breathtaking wilderness of Northern Norway at our motel and camping site in Kautokeino. This time a year (may-july) is a great time to experience the midnight sun here.
You'll help with painting of cabins, and general upkeep.
Also if you are good at art, we were thinking of creating and panting some mural art in some of the cabins.
What you offer
24 hours of help per week
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
Arts:
Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.
Painting & Decorating:
Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.
What you get
1 day off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Bikes at your disposal:
You can use our bikes any time you want.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Dedicated Workspace:
Specific space for you to work remotely

Program Details
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers ready to help with a variety of tasks around our cabins and café. Your work will include:
Painting cabins (both inside and outside), keeping them fresh and inviting for our guests.
Repairs and general upkeep, including maintenance of outdoor areas and structures.
Decorating cabins with creative and artistic touches.
If you have experience in mural art, we’d love for you to help us create beautiful murals inside some of our cabins. We are specifically seeking volunteers with art experience, particularly those who have painted on walls before. If you’re passionate about art but lack mural experience, don’t worry – there are plenty of other opportunities for you to contribute!
In return, we provide accommodation in our cozy cabins, breakfast, and a chance to enjoy the stunning natural beauty of Northern Norway. This is a great opportunity to help with practical and creative work in a peaceful, beautiful setting.
Activities & Shift
Main Tasks:
- Painting cabins (outside and inside) and
- General maintenance around the campsite, including minor repairs, fixing small issues, and ensuring everything is in good condition.
- Furniture rearrangement and organizing spaces to make cabins and common areas more functional and welcoming.
- Decluttering and sorting old items to create a more tidy and organized environment.
- Mural art (for those with skills).
- Might also be some: Light decorating to enhance the look of cabins and common areas.
Additional tasks:
If you're open to helping with various tasks around the site, such as light carpentry, maintenance work, or assisting with reception duties and cleaning cabins, your flexibility will be greatly appreciated!
Working hours:
Volunteers will work up to 4 hours per day, with 1 day off per week.
Volunteers will receive training for the tasks they’ll be performing, including painting, maintenance, and other duties. We value volunteers who take responsibility for their tasks and are self-sufficient. While we’re here to support you, we encourage you to work independently and take ownership of your assigned tasks. If you’re ever unsure, we’re available for guidance and support.
