Grateful for the shared experience whilst volunteering with this children's project at Sujan's family home. From the first evening, I felt welcomed as a family member. I experienced generosity from every single member in the family as well as their care at days when I was not feeling too well. As I applied for helping with children, my main tasks throughout the day was to lead the after-school club lessons for the children attending. With support and encouragement I was given the choice of the activities structure. Ranging from short lessons to games outside. Truly grateful for host family

Thank you to the hosts for the hospitality, although my time here was short it was lovely. I had a wonderful time connecting with the children and seeing how eager they were to learn really warmed my heart. The family also took care of me when I was sick and made separate meals taking this into consideration. I will never forget my little sister Sophia and all the fun we had playing peak-a-boo and dancing around the living room.

I want to thank Sujan and the family for being amazing hosts. They made me feel at home immediately, and fed me lots of food every meal. They were always so kind and caring, checking up on me often, teaching us games and welcoming us to there family. Even when I got sick while I was there, they were so caring and brought me soup to my room for every meal. We usually spent around 2 hours a day volunteering with the kids in the community, where we could play and teach them anything. The kids always radiate so much joy, energy and happiness. It was a very wholesome and rewarding experience.

Sujan and family was so so amazing and they taking care of me so well! Showing me places around, cooking me good food. Everything was just awesome! And the kids… they will always have a place in my heart. They was so so happy with everything I gave to them. Even just a candy. Or just a chocolate. And also, they are so willing to learn! I am never a kids person before this. But after this experience, it changed my mind. And even changed my life. I'll definitely come back again in the future! ❤️ tqsm Sujan and lovely family 🙏🏻

A great way to spend my first week in Kathmandu. The family are lovely and make you feel very much at home, constantly fed, playing board games with the grandfather in the evening and even a MoMo cooking class. The children are incredible and there is lots of freedom to bring your own ideas to the project. I would say that it is important to note that the tours are not free as per the information but I did appreciated having a local guide to show me around. Sold Kathmandu to me!!

As an first time worldpacker, I think I just went to the right place. The family was so loving, we played board games at night, there was good home made food. I also got to meet amazing worldpackers there, we talked about our life, experiences and the kids were so loving and sweet. This was truly amazing.

I had a great time staying for two weeks with Sujan and his family – I felt very welcomed and well taken care of. I enjoyed spending time with the children and having the opportunity to give back. However, some of the details described on the page were outdated, which the host is aware of and will update. For example, we only volunteered for 2 hours a day teaching the children, and the children did not live there. The page also mentioned free hiking tours, but we had to pay for them. At times, I did question if this was a money-making venture rather than a charitable project.

I had a very nice stay with Sujan and his family! They perfectly manage to include you in the family life and make you feel at home. We went to multiple places together and Sujan also told me a lot about Nepali culture and history which was really great :) not only a great host but also a great guide ^^ The girls were amazing as well, I had the chance to have a lot of fun with them and also learn a lot about myself, so I definitely recommend coming here :D A great experience!

Great to volunteer and stay with Sujan and his family. They were able to take me in on a short notice and were very welcoming. They taught me about nepali culture, showed me around in Kathmandu and taught me some games. Really nice to spend time with the children who were so open and kind. Recommend everyone who wants to volunteer and learn more about nepali culture to check them out.

I had the best time at the Children's Home! I was only there for a short week but became very attached to the sweet family and the children whom I met with for an hour each day. The food was wonderful and plentiful but what filled me up most was the spirits of the children regardless of how much they came from. This was well immersive as the neighborhood is more 'down home' than the tourist area of Kathmandu. I had such a lovely time here! Very thankful.
