My time at Guesthousethe hostelwas amazing, I loved it and couldn't reccomend more. Mayumi-san was the sweetest and the team was the best! 🫶 The work time and tasks is respected, and are quite chill and simple. You have different shifts and sometimes work at the fabrique/antique shop that are not far from the hostel, which is a chill and a different experience. The location is good, close to main points like Namba and Dotonbori. Even tho Osaka can be a bit too much for someone who isn't a big city person, it can also be fun and exciting.

Volunteering here was such a great experience! The other volunteers are welcoming, the guesthouse is cozy and well-located, and I loved meeting travelers from all over. I learned a lot about hospitality while still having time to explore Osaka. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience all in all. The owner is one of the kindest, most open persons you're ever gonna find, and I couldn't even begin to count the times she helped me out during my stay. The team was amazing, and meeting new people all the time made every day feel fresh and new. It was my first worldpackers experience, but I'm sure it's gonna stick with me for the rest of my life. Thank you so much, Mayumi and everyone!

Staying at the hostel was my first volunteering experience. And I'm very happy it was here! Mayumi-san, the owner of the hostel, is a very calm, friendly and kind hearted woman, very easy to work for. I met lots of different travellers (mostly non-Japanese) and had some amazing conversations with them! the hostel felt like a home to me, exactly what I was looking for. And to work at her little fabric shop was lovely as well! All in all, I really enjoyed my stay there! It gave me the opportunity to really 'live' inside Japan for a month. An unforgettable experience!

I had a great time volunteering at Guesthouse the hostel. Mayumi was very welcoming but she also gave the volunteers lots of autonomy to make their own decisions, which I appreciated! I felt respected and I enjoyed being part of the team.

The hostel is a small the hostel in a great location! 10 minutes away from Dotonbori on foot. The owner Mayumi-san is pretty hands-off so one of the volunteers picked the schedule and days off. The work is very light and easy, cleaning and reception both. The facilities are good, there are staff only accommodation and the best part for me: the volunteer team! I feel like a big part of what your experience will be like here will be the other volunteers. I met some amazing volunteers, we went on a few trips and for dinner and drinks often. Thanks everyone and Mayumi-san for a great time!

It's a small place that carries a lot of charm. Great opportunities to meet new people in the form of volunteers and guests, Mayumi (the owner) is super chill and accommodating. Since this the hostel is run with a small team, often the work hours can be variable and operate on an as-needed basis, but the expectations are never unreasonable. I had plenty of time to explore around Osaka with my new friends :)

Spent a month and a half here and my stay was fantastic! Volunteers have their own rooms up on the 4th floor away from the guest rooms, which is nice. Mayumi-san is very kind and accommodating, and Ethan is super fun to have around as well! In the busy season, the hostel is packed with travellers from all over the world, so it is very easy to meet fun people, and the hostel is located in an incredible location within walking distance of Dotonbori, Amemura, Shinsaibashi and lots of other exciting places. The hostel is spacious, with a large common area and clean facilities. ありがとうございます!

Thank you so much for all your help, Griffin!! How was the last mission—walking to Kyoto Station? xD I really liked his funny inspirations—they add a little spice to life in such a cute way. Also, he kinda looks like a Canadian Santa Claus! Plus, with his handy DIY skills, he’s the type that makes any home a happier place—definitely one of those ‘everyone needs one at home’ types! lol

Being my first time volunteering with Worldpackers and solo travelling to Japan I was admittedly a little nervous, but my nerves were quickly allayed upon meeting Mayumi. Mayumi was an exceptional host and made me feel truly welcome at the hostel! It felt very much like a home-away from home. I had the opportunity to meet some wonderful people over the course of nearly two months and even during busy periods, the work never felt overwhelming. Sadly, the time flew by, but I would 1000% recommend the hostel if you're ever considering volunteering in Osaka!

This was my first world packers experience and it was better than I expected. Yu and Mayumi san were very warm and welcoming and helped me settle into Japan. I practiced my Japanese with them and did some studying while waiting for guests to check in. The daily tasks were very simple, which they showed me and we would work together. It is in a great location, within walking distance to a lot of tourist spots, and there are direct trains for day trips from the nearest station. I had a very fun time and wish I didn't have to leave! どうもありがとう~

It was our first time working with a helper from Worldpackers, and we are very happy to have had Michelle. She worked very well and warmly welcomed our guests. Michelle is an honest, smart, and trustworthy helper. We would love for her to come back after her travels!
