From the moment i stepped into Audrey's house she made me feel welcomed and like it's my home too. She does everything to make everyone feel comfortable and happy. Audrey is a very nice, funny, strong and understanding woman, you can talk with her about everything and she tries her best to get up to everyone's needs and wishes. Her friends come around and take us to go fishing, explore Hudson Bay (and much more) and try to give everyone a great experience and get to know the Canadian lifestyle ! It was an amazing experience which I will always be happy to remember,it's a home away from home !

Audrey is a powerful woman who run her business with kindness. She is impressive and you can see that she loves her B&B and all the animals around. It was a pleasure working with her for 1 month. Hudson Bay is a small town where people are welcome to come eat with us and share some quality time together. Shane and Glen are great guys and I'll miss them as much as the rest of the FirRiverRanch family. Thank again to Audrey for her lovely nest and all the food you made for us, I'm gonna miss your delicious cream puffs.

Audrey was an amazing 1st host and an amazing frist introduction to Canada. I've never felt more welcome in a strange place than I did at the farm, everyone there including Audrey, other volunteers and neighbors will become your BEST FRIEND. You can always keep busy with, trying to get the dogs to lose weight, brushing the horses, any indoor tasks and anything new you might want to try about Hudson Bay will be supported. Audrey is all about woman empowerment, she never once called me any dederogatory trems if she did you can feel the love across the whole the farm. <3 I miss Glen(& Audrey)

The farm is a wonderful place to be. Audrey is extremely lovely and makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. She is a great help in arranging car shares to get to Hudson Bay, the small town near the farm. The working hours are very nice with a 4-hour lunch break, and also the job varies depending on your skills you can be outside carrying for the horse or inside helping with food preparation and cleaning. Speaking of food, it's amazing; even as a vegetarian, I never went to bed hungry. There are always other volunteers, you can have good laugh with or a heated game of marbles

I really enjoyed my time at Audrey's the farm an always felt very welcome! It was great to have so many volunteers there to spend my free time with. There was really good and healthy food every day Sometimes there were a few misunderstandings about the exact tasks, and in general, I would have liked a little more clarity in stressful situations. You should also be aware that there are a lot of tasks inside such as cleaning and cooking. Nevertheless, there was always enough time to cuddle the dogs and horses, and I was able to learn a lot. I will never forget my time there!

I spent 5 weeks at the farm, and had a mixed experience. I really enjoyed meeting new people, spending time the animals, and exploring Hudson Bay. However, Audrey's communication was regularly inconsistent and could feel unnecessarily harsh, belittling, and discouraging, which made the experience emotionally draining. I'm grateful for my time at the farm, but I think the environment would be greatly improved with clearer communication and more respectful interactions.

My Stay at the farm was a great experience. I enjoyed my time here and to meet new people. The work includes different tasks, you don't do the same thing everyday. Some tasks were unclear about what exactly needs to be done. The working hours were like described. What would make the experience even better, is clear and friendly communication. It would be cool to have more working time with the Horses. In your freetime, you can work with the horses (Round-pen or horse riding), do something with the other Volunteers or enjoy your afternoon off. The Horses could use more training.

I had a great experience volunteering here. The host was generous and welcoming, and the work was varied – mostly housekeeping, outside chores and helping with the horses and dogs. We also did a lot of gardening which i loved. The meals were delicious. At times, the communication could feel a little unclear and sometimes a bit harsh. But other than that Audrey is a great host. What made my stay great was the time spent with the other volunteers. We did some rides with the horses, which was great, although the horses are not really trained and have their own heads. I really enjoyed my stay!

The start was a bit challenging as there were no experienced volunteers to show the tasks, but once familiar it was enjoyable thanks to the variety; cooking, cleaning guest rooms, gardening, and caring for horses. Working hours were manageable and the accommodation was comfortable and clean. The host cooked delicious meals (also vegetarian) and offered a true Canadian country experience. Communication was sometimes difficult in stressful situations. I had a great time with the other volunteers, and riding the horses in free time was a highlight, just a heads up, they are not very well trained.
