Program Details

Centro Infantil de los Ángeles (CILA) is a nonprofit organization that provides high quality daycare and preschool education to children with the greatest need in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Our center affords low-income working parents the confidence and security of knowing their children are fed, cared for, and supported on their path to a brighter future.

Activities & Shift

You will provide support and care to children from 6 months to 3 years old, who come from families with economic difficulties. The main tasks include helping to feed the babies, changing diapers, playing with them to stimulate their cognitive and motor development, and providing affection and attention. Volunteers are expected to work at the Preschool Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. -Volunteers are free weekdays in the afternoons, on weekends, and Mexican holidays.

Rules

It is very important for volunteers who are considering this experience to have the love, creativity, energy, and willingness to work with babies and toddlers. We also strongly recommend that volunteers have studied or demonstrate an interest in studying Spanish prior to and during their time with us. That way, volunteers can be the most useful in the classroom and have the most rewarding experience possible.
