The experience
The Kindergarten Teaching Program in Kakuma offers a rewarding experience for volunteers eager to contribute to the early childhood development of young children in kakuma refugee camp. This program focuses on nurturing children’s social and English language skills through engaging and practical learning environments. Volunteers work alongside our local teachers.
What you offer
18 hours of help per week
Teaching Languages:
Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.
What you get
3 days off per week
Tent:
You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Tours:
We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!
Bikes at your disposal:
You can use our bikes any time you want.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Language lessons:
Take free language classes at our place.
Permaculture Course:
Take part in our Permaculture course for free.
Certificate:
Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.
Fast Internet Access:
High-speed internet for you to work remotely
Dedicated Workspace:
Specific space for you to work remotely
Requirements
Beginner English
Between 18 and 80 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details
Volunteers will be engaged directly with children ages 3-6 in dynamic classroom settings.Help teach basic English, including reading, writing, and speaking.Take part in crafting, singing, and playing educational games.Help develop pre-reading skills, such as sorting, matching, and categorizing and Work under the guidance of experienced education coordinator and local teachers.
Activities & Shift
Morning time you will Teach basic language , in the afternoon you will teach foreigner languages, volleyball, football, art and craft, music,ethnic activities and playing with kids.
